Terence Davis reportedly waived by Sacramento Kings

The move opens up a roster spot.

Terence Davis’ second stint with the Sacramento Kings has reportedly come to an end. HoopsHype reports that the Kings have waived 28-year-old shooting guard.

Davis only played in one game last season, logging 8 minutes. The Kings signed him in April.

Davis previously played three season with the Kings and was part of the 2022-23 Beam Team. He played in the G League after that and dealt with an upper Achilles injury suffered in January 2024. Sacramento signing him in April was his return to an NBA court.

The move opens up a roster spot so it could be an indication of another move on the horizon.

I’ve become so broken about not having any forwards I would ok if this move was to add Oubre. I use to throw up at that thought.

i am not in the favor of adding older players to help the team. Perry needs to take a chance or two on younger players that will help the Kings bench. I saw a trade the other day which I really like. Monk to the Magic for Anthony Black and Jett Howard. You now can do this with the extra spot open. IMO Black can be the backup to Schroder but in a year or two become the Kings starting point guard. He has all the tools plus he plays defense.Howard would be the chance. He also has the tools but is a work in progress. He could fill the forward spots. He is a shooter. Now you have 2 young bench players not old farts that just keep the Kings where they are.

Another trade I really like would send Devin Carter to Denver for Peyton Watson. Watson is a young forward with great defensive ability. He also runs the transition game which Doug really wants. His offense needs work but what he makes up in hustle a great motor and can help Sabonis with rebounds, blocks and rim protection. I really like him.

Jack is old school, old guard and OG. He coached BB for years.

Howard never really turned out as a player. I am not sure if Black has the dog mindset to be a top flight starting PG on a good team.

“Never really turned out” makes it sounds as if he’s an over-the-hill vet. He’s only 21 he still has plenty of time to develop.

That Jett Howard selection was a head scratcher for Orlando at that pick, i never really saw what they saw in him.

I used to throw up at the thought of Kelly Oubre. I still do but I used to too.

Watching him on comedy central really was my childhood. His dufrene party of 2 bit made me cry laughter when I was younger. On 70s show the “like I said, I did not lose my leg in Vietnam” part kills me as well. Troubled man but so damn funny

Too bad. I love having players on the team who do a shimmy before missing a 3.

There is nothing about this that is a surprise (IMO). He was signed to fill out the roster to the 15 minimum, and here we are in hiatus period (that starts in April for the Kings) until the less than 30 days before Pre-Season commences.

There was no way that he was going to be on this roster on Opening Night. Part of a deal, not part of a deal, it didn’t matter. Terrence Davis was not wearing a Kings uni for 2025-26 season.

As for tributes – like Trey Lyles, TD was an oft exciting part of the Beam Team dream season (it must’ve been a dream, amirite?). When he was good, he was a joy to watch. I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Awesome – we’re down to only 7 shooting guards now.

BREAKING: Kings open up a roster spot to sign un-drafted 6 year collegiate combo guard Cash Considerations out of Anchorage State. The 6’2″ guard transferred to the Frost Donkeys last year and was a contributing member off the bench, averaging 5.3 PPG while shooting 31% from three. Considerations caught the eye of GM Scott Perry after YouTube highlights of him tearing up the Fairbanks Invitational were shared by video scout intern.

Managing Partner Vivek Ranadive commented, “He’s like a combination of Buddy Hield and Zach Lavine. We call him Frost Castillo”

Mark Jones is going to go crazy with this: he is as hot as week old fish grease.
The frost point is up to 14.7 % from three.

only 7? That is a record. Lets go get Brogdon (too late) or Westbrick.

On a serious note- what about Kelly Oubre? IMO much better than Jonathan, I never a pass I liked, Kuminga. And cheaper. But no D and he did see a pass he liked- one that was coming to him not from him.
Philly trying to clear cap space for Grimes.
NYK may be trying to move extra pieces- like last years rookies.

Solid defender, but really can’t shoot. He’d be nice between Keegan and LaVine if he accepted a role as primarily a defender, but that would mean finding a taker for DDR. Saric for Oubre works and does save the 76ers a bit of money, but they would probably want more for Oubre. I know I would.

The music plays, the players go around, the empty chairs sit. Cam Thomas takes one, Giddey takes a second and the NYK are making room for Grimes.
Oh, where does Kuminga sit? The last one standing.
He will not be a popular locker room guy, so dump him they must.

If Kuminga takes the QO, he has the option to have a no-trade clause. Dubs may be forced to keep him. If he waives the no-trade clause what team in their right mind would give up assets for a dude who is going to 100% enter free agency next summer?

My guess is he takes the QO and the Dubs make the best of it buy making one more title run with Curry, Green and Butler. They then lose him for nothing in 2026.

Sure they could take a low ball offer of Saric and Devin Carter for Kuminga, but all three parties have to agree to that trade and it doesn’t help the Dubs one bit in the short term with their rapidly closing window.

Peyton Watson is as good or better than Obrue as a primary defender. And he is years younger. Could get him for Carter and maybe a second.

Unrelated, but from the making lemonade from lemons files, isn’t it nice to know that Vivek will never be caught or accused of paying for players under the table?
