De’Aaron Fox delivered yet another incredible fourth-quarter performance Tuesday on the road against the Utah Jazz, scoring 22 points in the quarter and lifting the Kings to its 20th win of the season.
Following the game, head coach Mike Brown spoke about what we are seeing out of Fox this season is just him “scratching the surface” of what he can become. Brown also said that Fox has the green light to call his play calls off, and that this was the first time Fox did so multiple times down the stretch. A large part of the conversation surrounding Fox in recent years has been about his leadership ability. Clearly, he is taking on that challenge and rising to the occasion.
Domantas Sabonis, who has been on his own tear lately with a busted thumb, has said how he gladly will defer to Fox in the fourth. Following the win over the Jazz, Sabonis said once he saw Fox directing traffic in the fourth and his confidence on display, he knew the game was over and it was going to be a win.
Fox finished with 37 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. He completely dismantled the Jazz defense in the fourth quarter, using his lethal midrange game and exploiting mismatches with his speed.
