According to Jason Jones of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings have signed Jahmi’us Ramsey to a three-year rookie contract, with two of those seasons fully guaranteed, a replica of Justin James’ deal from last season.
Kings have signed second-round pick Jahmi'us Ramsey to a three year rookie deal with two years guaranteed, per league sources.

As one of the youngest players in the draft, Ramsey was selected 43rd overall after averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, while knocking down nearly 43% of his three-point attempts in his freshman year at Texas Tech. Our very own Brenden Nunes described Ramsey as one of the steals of the 2020 NBA Draft and compared him to a calmer version of JR Smith.
Now that the Kings have locked up both of their second round picks, only Tyrese Haliburton remains unsigned, but his contract is more of a formality than anything that must be negotiated. Over the next four years, he’ll make around $15 million. From a roster perspective, Monte McNair is likely done with free agency outside of a couple of possible camp deals. The Kings currently sit at 17 rostered players, meaning they’ll need to cut at least two before the season begins. Frank Kaminsky and Chimezie Metu are the most likely candidates with their non-guaranteed deals, while an expiring player like Jabari Parker, who doesn’t seem to have a future with the organization, could also be released, with Sacramento eating his $6.5 million salary.
I thought Tyrese Haliburton already signed his rookie contract with the Kings?
I’m also wrong sometimes.
Only you can answer that question.
Funny you say this but I thought I saw a Kings notification from the Kings app that Rese had in fact signed a deal. Either way, if there is a hold up it’s probably due to incentives which….shocker of shockers…..the Kings are actually adding to their young players contracts for a pleasant change.
It’s so weird to follow a professionally run franchise.
As a few of you have pointed out, apparently Haliburton already signed his rookie deal. I’m not sure how I missed that, but I do want to acknowledge that I was wrong for the first time ever about anything (please don’t check my Twitter feed for confirmation).
FAKE NEWS!!
Soooo
20-21 guaranteed (or partial/super partial) contracts? 16 players:
Fox/Joseph/Ramsey
Hield/Haliburton/James
Barnes/Robinson/Woodard
Bagley/Bjelica/Jeffries/Parker
Whiteside/Holmes/Metu
Non-guaranteed:
Kaminsky, Guy?, Rose, Edwards
I thought Ramsey and Guy would be our two way contracts, with both Metu and Kaminsky making the squad, and eating Parker’s contract.
Idk anymore…
Metu should for sure going be a two-way. He really isn’t very good right now, but a worthwhile, low-impact risk
I really do hope he can be a solid role player in the NBA.
I like that they’re using the MLE to lock up the second rounders to long-term deals.
Do we know this for sure? I’m curious why you say they used the MLE to sign these guys.
Here’s some info on the Woodard signing:
