After struggling to get some minutes with the Sacramento Kings, rookie Robert Woodard flashed his potential in his G League debut.
The 40th overall selection from last year’s NBA Draft finished with 25 points, seven boards and three assists in his first game with the Austin Spurs, while coming off the bench, helping them to a 119-111 win against the Memphis Hustle.

Woodard shot the ball extremely well, going 10-of-14 from the field in 34 minutes. The 21-year-old was originally selected in the second-round by the Memphis Grizzlies but was acquired by the Kings along with a 2022 second rounder in exchange for the draft rights to Xavier Tillman Sr.
Woodard suited up in six games for Sacramento before being flexed to the Spurs’ affiliate because the Kings chose not to send their G League squad to the Florida bubble this season.
The Mississippi State product averaged 2.2 points and 1.3 rebounds while playing just 2.8 minutes per game with the Kings.
