Kings fall to Jazz in regular season finale

It’s finally over.

If the Utah Jazz needed a confidence boost ahead of the postseason, they got it in their game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

With Marvin Bagley III, Harrison Barnes, De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Richaun Holmes all sidelined, the Jazz clobbered the Kings 121-99 at the Golden 1 Center, which was a fitting ending to another disappointing season from Sacramento.

The Kings will end their season with 31 wins — the same amount of wins they had through 82 games last season — and 41 losses. They haven’t had a season with a .500 record or better since the 2005-06 season, which is also the last time they qualified for the postseason.

The Kings will now head straight into the offseason, where they’ll be forced to confront the biggest problems in their organization, such as the head coaching position, the happiness of their players — most notably Bagley and Buddy Hield — and, of course, their payroll. Suffice to say, it could be a long summer.
