I don’t have a warm fuzzy feeling about this game or the next decade.
Want to redeem yourself, Monte? Walk over to your old pal Morey before tip off and swap Fox for Simmons.
Just a total crapshoot. There’s no telling how a team will respond after this kind of shakeup. Sometimes they come out like their asses are on fire and crush an opponent, other times, not so much.
I feel that even without Embiid (and Simmons), the Kings will continue to be flat, at the very least for long enough stretches that they can’t recover.

Hey man, I hear you there. What are you hoping for, and then what are you expecting the rest of the season for the team?
Barring any roster changes for the time being, I’d like to see Gentry create some half-court offensive schemes that require consistent ball movement, and which put the players in the best position to maximize their skills.
I want to see consequences for guys who are standing around on offense or defense.
This won’t happen, because the NBA is still about following, and not leading, but I’d like if Gentry would tell the guards that it’s a bad idea to slack off of their man who shoots better than league-average from three, in order to be available in case a guy a foot taller and sixty pounds heavier decides to take it to the hoop. If a guy can shoot, you need to stay within a yard of him, and make him work to get open, instead of slacking away twenty feet where he can receive the ball and leisurely launch a shot.
I want Gentry to provide the tools to make things better, but I also don’t want him to be in charge come summer. My assumption is that McNair wants the opportunity to get his own person in as head coach, instead of being stuck with so many hand-me-downs. I don’t think we’ll really know what kind of GM is until that happens, and it’s unlikely to happen this season.
I agree on all these things. I’d like the g league guys to get a look if the main team guys won’t do what’s being asked of them.
I’m hoping there are wholesale changes to the roster, but that’s not what I’m expecting.
It’s really tough to predict. I think that McNair is aware that there are types of players that the team needs, and fortunately that’s tempered by his disinclination to hand over the entire store for a guy like Ben Simmons or Porzingis. The latter has been good this season, but it’s only a matter of time until his knees begin hurting too much for him to be effective, or even play.
As far as discussions with Philly, I’d rather see McNair target Harris, although Morey knows that he’s easily their second-best player. Harris at the wing and four would really plug some holes at both ends. I’d also like it if inquiries were made about Clint Capela. He’s undersized, but all I know is that he rebounds and blocks shots with the best of them, and that is always useful.
I also like the idea of getting Siakam, but he’s likely off the table. There are plenty of guys who aren’t necessarily superstars that could be available to plug in at 3-4, and it may require an overpay in trade. Having finally moved on from Walton, and with Gentry, hopefully only as a caretaker, the roster becomes the main focus Maybe he can get better results than what we’ve had recently, but regardless, the current roster is not likely to make a significant lead forward. I’d love to be wrong about that.
Gentry will free Fox on the offensive end to play faster as nature intended. The Kings will win.
