Well, the blows just keep coming. In addition to De’Aaron Fox, Alex Len, Terence Davis, Marvin Bagley, Louis King, and interim Head Coach Alvin Gentry, Sacramento Kings rookie Davion Mitchell has entered health and safety protocols and is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Outside of COVID-related availability, Richaun Holmes is doubtful due to an eye contusion, and Tyrese Haliburton and Chimezie Metu are listed as questionable with a sore back and a sore left knee. If all of those players do, in fact, miss tonight’s game, the Kings will be left without a point guard, outside of Justin Robinson, a G League player who is expected to sign a short-term, hardship exception contract with Sacramento this afternoon, assuming that the game actually takes place.
To say the Kings will be in trouble this evening without all of these rotational players would be the understatement of the century, as their roster would be down to nine players, toeing the line of the minimum allowed for an NBA game. And while it’s certainly possible that the league would grant another hardship exception if Mitchell ends up missing the game, the roster would still be made up of mostly G League players and two-way contracts. Here’s the team as it’s currently assembled, assuming that everyone on the injury report is out:
PG: Justin Robinson
SG: Buddy Hield, Jahmi’us Ramsey
SF: Harrison Barnes
PF: Moe Harkless, Robert Woodard
C: Tristan Thompson, Damian Jones, Neemias Queta
A win tonight would be nothing short of a miracle.

Are we allowed to field the entire Stockton Kings roster tonight?
You keep standing too close to the fire to maintain a proper perspective.
I guess Doug and Bobby will just have to become Player-Coaches for tonight’s game.
Otherwise we’re literally going to be playing 4on5 basketball 2.0!
“Hey Doug, good luck!”

The sad thing about this, is if the game goes forward and more of the team goes into protocols in the next few days, they are just going to affect the Grizz and then the next team Memphis plays. Does the NBA not realize they are making matters worse by having games like this?

BREAKING: NBA HATES AMERICA, EMBRACES SATANISM
Seems in the UK latest variant is doubling up cases every 2 days. Bad for NBA, good for Kangz excuse for this season
Sounds like they shared a lot at that players only meeting.
The Gift that Keeps Giving
Buddy is going to shoot at least 25 times tonight
Is that Zion?

That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this.
Davion is officially out:
Might need to up the transaction/roster limits in the fantasy league!
Oh boy. The outbreaks in the NBA are just going to get worse from here on out, unfortunately.
Somehow the roster balance seems ok now.

I often feel this way, even without all the COVID weirdness going on.
Davion Mitchell does not “enter health and safety protocols.”
Davion Mitchell goes into lockdown mode.
We’ve got to go play,
But baby it’s Covid outside,
Keep the Grizzlies at bay,
But baby it’s Covid outside,
8th seed in reach they say,
But baby it’s Covid outside.
Have coach drama we may,
But Baby ITS COOOVID OUTSIIIIIIIIDE!
I’d rather watch all-out effort from 5 hungry G-League players than watch the rest of the mediocre bunch go through the motions.
