NBA All-Star is today, with all events being crammed into just a few hours. There will be the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest, with the Dunk Contest being held at halftime of the All-Star Game itself. Festivities begin around 3:30 PT.
It may be an interesting evening as the game will happen without Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons, who have been ruled out due to Covid contact tracing.

It would have to be one hell of an offer, but sure. Give me a couple extremely-to-not-protected 1sts and maybe a young player and they’ve got my attention. The Kings could either just send expiring filler back (Joseph, Bjelica, Parker) or you could do a much bigger deal and get crazy with something like Love + Okoro + 2021 1st + 2023 1st for Barnes + Bagley + Bjelica
Has to be something like this with $70 million in dead salary coming back. If the front office places any value on Kevin Love, we’ve gotten Vlade’d again.
Oh yeah, any actual positive value provided on the court should be seen as an shocking and unexpected bonus.

According to the ESPN trade machine and Tradenba.com, the $26MM+ of Joseph, Bjelica and Parker is enough to make it work.
Someone remind me to ask in the chainmail how buyouts work from a cap perspective. I know you basically negotiate with the player on how much money they’ll actually get paid if they agree to a buyout, but does that amount impact the actual salary cap for the remaining guaranteed years? It seems like it does, but I’m too dumb to figure it out.
Also, imagine how nice it would be if the owners were rich enough to eat this salary simply to get extra assets? That would be more fun than having an owner that can’t afford a G League team (or fire a coach).
Damn. Lebron with 17 all star appearances. It feels like just yesterday he dropped 20 5 5 on us in his first NBA game. Time flies. Luka already on his 2nd appearance but that’s neither here nor there.

We won the third pick in that draft and lost it due to a pick swap with Philly and they traded the pick to the Celtics. That one was a bit of a slow burn. We won 2 top 3 picks in a row and blew them due to the ineptitude in the front office. Vlade was saying he knew something concerning no one else did about Luka. It turned out to be nothing considering Dallas has no problems with him.
came on to see if we traded or fired anyone. Looked at trade rumors Sac Kings, I see that Love trade…no mention of picks, along with more stupid trades and shitty logic. The rest of the league thinks we will trade value for cap relief, no picks or young players back. Don’t see how we have given them a reason to think otherwise, hope that changes soon.
