The Sacramento Kings kept the Doug Christie magic rolling Wednesday in Sacramento with a 123-117 win over the Golden State Warriors. It marks Sacramento’s third win in a row and a 10-1 record since Dec. 30, which has propelled the team to 7th place in the Western Conference.
The Kings had to climb out of a decent-sized deficit in this one. The Warriors used a strong second quarter to take a 65-48 lead into the half. Golden State was blistering hot from three (53%) in the first half. The Warriors scored 13 points off Kings turnovers as well. Sacramento also couldn’t get anything going at the basket, scoring just 8 points in the paint. Domantas Sabonis helped keep them competitive, but Sacramento had a big hill to climb in the second half.
Things turned around in the third as the Kings outscored the Warriors 37-20, mainly on the back of DeMar DeRozan who poured in 19 points in the quarter. Sacramento also tightened up the defense, punctuated by Keon Ellis blocking Steph Curry as the quarter concluded. The Warriors defense had no answer. Sabonis continued to anchor the team with his paint presence and Trey Lyles delivered a nice spark off the bench. All combined, the squad had Golden 1 Center rocking, and Steve Kerr yelling at the refs, as the third quarter concluded with the score tied at 85.
Most of the fourth quarter was a back and forth affair, but down the stretch the Kings again leaned on defense to limit Golden State’s three-point attempts, specifically from Curry. The Warriors continued to foul and put the Kings at the line, and the Kings drained those free throws. Sacramento put the game away on a De’Aaron Fox jumper and a nice Malik Monk drive to the basket. The Kings closed the game out on a 14-4 run.
The Good
- DeMar DeRozan’s Scoring: DeRozan scored 32 points, including those pivotal 19 third quarter points.
- Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray’s Defense: The duo helped keep Steph Curry to just 14 points – he only took 4 threes and made just 1.
- Free Throw Shooting: The Kings finished 93% from the line (30-32). Free throws helped them seal the victory late in the fourth.
- Taking Care of The Ball: The Kings only committed 8 turnovers.
- Fast Break Points Difference: The Warriors had 0 fast break points. 0. The Kings had 28.
- Domantas Sabonis: 26 points and 18 rebounds.
The Bad
- Slow Start: The Warriors took a decent lead into the first half by defending the paint and good three-point shooting against the Kings defense.
The Ugly
- Kevin Huerter’s Impact: He finished with just 6 minutes, his lowest of the season. He had zeros across the box score and was a -10. Huerter has played less than 10 minutes in the last three games, and his playing time in general has decreased across the board since Christie took over. In December, he didn’t log less than 20 minutes in any game. He has only played 20 minutes in one game so far in January.
Up Next
The Kings are back in action Thursday in Denver to take on the Nuggets at 6 p.m.
What a great game. It’s a testament to this team’s play since Doug took over that even at the biggest deficit I didn’t consider turning this game off. So often early in the season the Kings would fall into a big hole, and you knew they’d make the game close, but I’d have no confidence they could actually complete a comeback and win. Now, it never feels like the Kings are out of a game. The way the Kings amped up the defense in the second half of the third quarter was fantastic. Keon Ellis had Curry in hell. Keegan also played Steph well, but Ellis really bothered Curry.
The Kings really need to move Huerter. It doesn’t even matter what the return is at this point (monkey paw curls as Monte decides to get Kuzma).
I love the trend this season of Steph celebrating like a jackass in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and then losing games. The unwavering confidence that has made him such a great shooter is now preventing him from any sense of self-awareness when it comes to the state of his team. Beautiful.
Keon needs all of Huerter’s minutes at this point, and there really is no argument against it.
Idk if it’s just watching us play them with keon, but steph looks “old” out there
He does turn 37 in March and has numerous deep playoff runs so there are a lot of miles on his tires. Father time catches us all.
What interesting is that the Dubs early in the season were playing very deep and no one was averaging more than 29 minutes. There were winning those games as well. Injuries have impacted things a bit, but their core has seen their MPG jump to the mid 30’s during their spiral. Maybe Kerr is reaching, or maybe they should go back to how they were playing earlier in the season.
I guess part of that is because of age (that’s a joke!), but it is mostly because of him carrying such a big load with not enough teammates to help carrying it. He looked young enough during the Olympics.
It’s funny, the WHOLE time I was thinking, “Just wait for the 3Q, you’ll see.”
Random note.
I played football and baseball so I’m more comfortable talking X’s and O’s in those two sports which are part of my DNA. Basketball however, some of the finer points go over my head since I’ve never played or studied the game. Which brings me to my observation, the view from The Simpsons Aliens at the end of the show, kind of thing.
One thing I’ll say about this team, it appears to me everybody knows their role, they know where they fit. I don’t see a lot of confusion on what to do, or who to be.
This story can’t be explained by, “Now their shots are falling”. That’s not a fair analysis of the turnaround.
You just have to give it to good leadership.
Excellent point Marty.
So Doug is the guy who triumphantly shows up holding the board with a nail in it?
Biggest differences between first half and second was Kings were going strong to the basket in the second half, getting fouled and second, they picked up the defensive pressure- as DC says “Make them feel you”
Another subtle strategy also helped wear Curry out. In the first half, Keon and Carter were rotating on pressuring him full court, making him work to just advance the ball. That is the equivalent to body shots early in a boxing match.
I want to see the Kings do this even more. Also, more 3/4 and 1/2 court pressure and the high man blitz and trap. When they do this you can see the opponent wilt. And a side benefit is they play less defense in the halfcourt set which is still a weakness.
Great call out. Yeah, using the bench guys to pester and wear out someone like Curry is huge. Both Ellis and Carter are long enough and fast enough to recover, perfect guys to use for full court pressure. Steph has incredible conditioning, he’s used to running around all over and wearing out opponents, so it was really cool seeing the Kings using multiple strategies to slow him down, wear him down, and frustrate him.
Also, father time helps.
The four guard combo of Fox, Monk, Ellis and Carter has a lot of speed and athleticism. They can most team a lot of problems if they pressure. Also Domas, the most fit center in the NBA, can play this style. Keegan can thrive in this style as well.
Domas gets a lot of flak for his defense but he’s really good at hedging and guarding at the perimeter.
When he was doubling near the half court line late in the game, and Myers complimented him, I wondered how many centers could effectively accomplish the same task.
Curry didn’t have a lot of fun against Keegan Murray, either. The coaching staff did a really good job with the game plan and the players executed well.
Yes, the game plan seemed to be Keon or Carter pressure Curry while bringing the ball up. When it gets to a halfcourt set match Keegan on him and lessen the 3s. Double him on the dribble and make him pick it up and pass. They forced him into a few TOs with this.
Yeah we match well with teams that have guards as primary stars, not as much with teams like the bucks/nugs/Cs that have bigs and wings as main dudes. Keon/Carter can absolutely pester opposing guards.
Coaching does make a difference! We have seen it.
Huerter has been essentially useless since seeing he can’t play when it matters. Why the fuck Kings didn’t trade him 2 years ago is beyond me (probably a Vivek thing).
Keon earned Kevs minutes last year. Don’t know what Brown was watching, but it wasn’t his basketball team.
I love what Doug has done. I’m concerned Vivek will be what keeps the Kings back. He’s a turd. Cheap. Holds this organization back and I wish he’d leave.
Go Kings
Dougie Christ….
I think I’m fine if Huerter doesn’t play anymore unless it’s garbage time. He’s just completely fallen off since the series against the Warriors.
If he can be flipped for any kind of 3/4 or 4/5 combo player that only needs 10 minutes a game to spell Keegan and Sabonis, it would do wonders for the rotation.
100%
I question if Huerter has any trade value at all. Might be stuck with him until this time next year where he would have some value as an expiring contract (I think, not sure how long he is signed).
Or they might need to just give him away.
Even sadder, he might be gone soon for a bag of chips. But we still owe the pick he cost.
It’s basically like crashing a new-ish car you still owe a lot of money on
A Bagley of chips you say?
Marvin Bagley better start Duo Lingo’ing Mandarin.
He and Jimmer would make a legendary NBA Jam team for the Shanghai Sharks.
AnybodybutBagley!
Bring Holmes Home Homie?
Why the hell do the Wizards have so many big men? After they tradde for Bagley, they drafted Sarr, they gave an extension to Holmes, and then signed Jonas Valanciunas. Their GM is like the anti-Monte, who seems obsessed with small combo guards.
The backup center we have been looking for!
As shitty as it sounds, it would probably be a plus trade for us lolz
Yeah, better fit position wise and one less year on the contract for either one. We’d probably have to throw in our lone 2nd rounder
YACK! NO
There was a point in the game last night where Huerter was matched up with Buddy and it was gross. Watching two chuckers like that makes my head hurt.
He has super low value and it’ll need to be attached picks likely, OR like Adam said, just give us that near equivalent value player but at the 3/4 or 4/5 position and at least it helps us for fit more
Might be too hard to give him away with another year guaranteed, and we cannot afford to throw away any more 2nd round picks to get rid of another contract. We barely have any left as it is.
and no sense in even risking injury before trade deadline
That is the key. Injury would pervert any hope of a decent trade.
One depressed underperforming asset for another. Huerter for Patrick Williams.
We were discussing him our Slack yesterday. I want no part of Patrick Williams. He’s not good, and his contract is truly terrible.
You don’t think a change of scenery could do him some good? The kid is still just 23 years old.
It’s possible, but I’m not willing to risk paying him $18 million for the next four years after this season to find out if he can be better. He’s really not good.
Yeah, he would have to play so far up to justify that contract.
And some form of draft capital would have to come back from the Bulls if he was traded for Huerter. I would say 1st rounder or more for that contract alone.
haha stop that…they are not going to have to attach a 1st to Pat Williams
Would you be willing to pay the man 4/$72m with the hopes that he develops? The risk is high that he ends up being Trey Lyles level player. Lyles makes $8m, btw.
Ain’t my money and as long as they are willing to go over the cap (they absolutely should) the team would have everyone locked up that they need.
Guards: Fox can resign and go over, Monk, Keon, carter locked up.
Forwards: Demar, Murray, Williams locked up, Lyles allowed to go over to resign
Center: Sabonis locked up.
That is a 9 man rotations that can be controlled for the next few years with easy win now status and huge growth opportunity with Carter and Williams.
Sign me up
I’m not saying that they shouldn’t take on the contract, just that I think some draft capital ought to be sent back for saving the Bulls 10s of millions of dollars on that contract.
I get it, but just don’t think that happens often with a 23 y/o with so much upside. That happens with washed vets, more like Huerter tbh. So they have to eat Huerter for a year with no real “upside” so it would be a wash imo, we might have to throw in a 2nd tbh
Huerter is an expiring deal after this season, so his value to certain teams might actually be high. A team in the tax or 2nd apron team can shed long term money by taking a shorter contract like Huerter, while attaching picks to any trade to sweeten the deal.
We’ll see what happens. Whatever makes the Kings better is a win.
Ain’t my money, either. Neither is the 1st round pick that we’ll attach to jettison his contract if/when this doesn’t work out (see Holmes, Richaun).
I don’t think that would be the case
I didn’t think that it would be the case with Richaun, either. Or 2nds to get out of Sasha and Davion. Or a pick swap to get out of Barnes.
Bottom line, it’s no longer an “ain’t my money” league, not with the new CBA and the punitive nature of (especially) the 2nd apron. You need to be a lot more prudent in your spending than in the past. And for this organization, bad contracts have cost them picks. So it is absolutely a consideration when it comes to taking on a player and contract like Williams.
Which makes finding talented players in the 2nd round, or undrafted players, and letting them develop in the G-League is huge. Even late 1st round picks can be massively important to teams with stars on Max/Supermax deals.
I look at him and see he has the tools, but has only had one NBA coach on generally bad teams. He’d be a reclamation project for sure, but that contract is long.
Here’s a good recent article from the Chicago Tribune on his struggles:
https://www.chicagotribune.com/2025/01/16/chicago-bulls-patrick-williams-breaking-point/
DeRozan might have some insight on him as they played together the past few season. P-Will seems like he should be a lot better than he is playing. I watched the game against the Bulls recently, and he seemed to make some nice plays and shows flashes, but then couldn’t convert the shot. I have read that Bulls fans want him gone quickly.
I think he has a Fox motor. On paper, he should be nasty, and the perfect player for this team. But when you watch him play, it’s just not put together. I’d like to think better coaching and a real defined role would do wonders for him and any young player but the contract is a big overpay as is.
I think Patrick was one the youngest player drafted that 2020 year, turning 19 in August 2020. He was raw then, and still seems to be raw now. He didn’t develop much with the Bulls.
He might just need a different system/role/teammates, etc. to develop. Drafting such young, raw players is a massive investment in developing them, where many factors need to occur for that player to be good.
He has better shooting numbers than Huerter, better defensive numbers and is 23 on a team that a change of scene could be great. Not a bad swap at all imo.
He’s a power forward who has rebounding numbers nearly identical to Huerter
Huerter a huge guard tbf, they are the same height but Williams has more weight.
So a 23 y/o with basically same yearly avg but for 2 more years than Huerter….the 23 y/o is better this year per 36 at: 3pt%, fta, ft%, reb, equal assist, blocks, and less fouls.
Better positional fit for the specific team as well. Sign me up
He doesn’t rebound, he has the motor of a desk fan, and hasn’t gotten better at anything in his four plus seasons. Hard pass.
So you’re saying Heurter as the new starting PF for sac? Prob solved
Two things that a good coach needs to do. Keep the right players on the floor at the right time. Make halftime adjustments. For all the things Brown did well, he almost never seemed to do those two things. Last night was a perfect example of Christie doing both. Now we just need to get him better backups
The “ugly” is beautiful and why DC is the coach now and not MB…It’s sooooooooo nice to watch Keon on the court, dude just oozes winning basketball
At halftime I was feeling the Kangz demons tapping my shoulder. But this team has grit now and 3rd quarter defense and Demar going off. National television. Convincing comeback against rival. Kerr losing his cool. Glorious.
In the first half the Kings truly were playing with their food.
After it was cooked in fish grease?
If you had told me before the game that the Dubs would double up the Kings in 3pt makes, I would have predicted a loss. What a weird game, but it was defense in the second half that turned things around. Once again, I don’t think we realize how consistently good Sabonis is for this team.
On the Fox front, after seeing his finger untaped, I don’t think that dude should be taking anymore threes. He’s currently sitting at 31% for the season. I’m hoping he doesn’t get invited to any all-star activities so he can rest during the break because he looks a bit beat up at the moment.
Yeah, that finger is fugly.
First 2 1/2 quarters were rough. Last quarter and a half were immaculate.
He shouldn’t be taking any more 3’s, any more 2’s, any layups. He should be taking a trip to his doctor post haste. That’s going to hurt like hell when they straighten it back out.
For way too long this team did not do the obvious things and make the obvious adjustments. At half time, I hoped for zero Huerter/Len minutes in the second half. Got it. Be more aggressive blitzing Steph? Got it. Fewer threes, more paint points, playing Keon, etc.. I could go on but it’s just refreshing to watch. Malone is the last Kings coach I remember that had the ability to push the right buttons and that was like 10 years ago.
At the start of the third they showed a sideline interview on the national broadcast where they asked Doug about halftime adjustments. He said one of the biggest things he told the team was “make them feel us”. Not just a tinker, but a shift in mindset. Make them feel you on defense, make them feel your presence in this game. You could totally see it shift in that third quarter.
Can’t be called a “dead coach bounce” anymore.
Coach Doug has this team rolling!
or bouncing…
we want to believe, and yet Lucy and her darn football lurk in our memories.
I’m really liking “more aggressive attacking the rim” Keegan!
And that block on Curry from behind was glorious
Yes it was!

Reposting some of my comments from the last article:
The Kings are 8-11 when Fox is the team’s scoring leader for the game.
They’re 15-9 when someone else is the scoring leader. In this 10-1 stretch of games, Fox has only led the team in scoring 3 times.
Distribute the ball, play the hot hand, win games.
That said, they don’t win that game last night without Fox going 10-10 on his FTs after driving to the rim to create fouls late in the fourth.
I think it’s looking like they don’t make a major move until the offseason. But to me, I still think Fox is the one top 4 player (Fox/Sabonis/Monk/DeMar) they can afford to lose and remain competitive in the playoff hunt.
This is starting to look like the team they imagined when they picked up DeMar. One night, he takes control, the next night Monk, the next night Sabonis, the next night Fox. They are really starting to put it all together right now.
I don’t know if Fox scoring too much was the main problem this year under MB (where those losses were accumulated), so that split might be a bit deceptive. That said, I have nothing against a balanced scoring attack, multiple weapons, and keeping Fox fresh. However, you don’t really get past round one or two in the playoffs in this age without having at least one player that can go supernova and can’t be stopped. Fox is going to have to be that guy this year down the stretch.
It doesn’t have to be Fox. Malik and DeMar can fill it up as well. Sabonis is capable of dropping 30 when given the chance. If Fox can do it while playing within the offense and finding timely times to drive for easy buckets, then that is even better.
In the regular season, sure. But playoffs (which is the goal) is a different story. You see it every year where teams that have All-NBA level players that are able to elevate their game even further are the ones usually that make deep playoff runs. We had a nice, balanced, high-scoring team in Beam Team Year One and what happened in the playoffs? Everyone wilted except Fox/Monk and the Warriors’ star went supernova brighter than ours. If say, Fox is traded, is it realistic to expect Monk or DeMar (given his playoff history) to outduel the likes of SGA, Jokic, Edwards, or Luka in a seven-game series?
I think one of the reasons that Domas is not elevating his game in the play-offs because he’s one of the few star players who plays in his highest gear all season long, almost every damn possession.
That’s the $64 million dollar question (or maybe $55M question?). I don’t know the answer. It seemed that the focus on Fox last night opened opportunities for others. It’s definitely a star driven league. Will be interesting to see how (if) Monte adjusts things at the deadline and in the offseason.
Good team basketball is always better than hero basketball.
It’s a bit of a stretch, by my daughters’s bball team/program is really good…as in undefeated in league with winning margins in the 30’s kind of good. Varsity is are lock for a deep playoff run with a state title game as their goal for the 3rd straight year. The kicker is, no one averages more than 12.5 points per game. They play team ball with quick passes and a swarming defense. There is no star, just great role players and a great coach with a sum is greater than their parts approach. I see Doug Christie applying a similar principle.
Sounds like Vivek should be speaking to their coach.
We’re similar to that hawks team in that way but, with better players.
We have a ton of athleticism that just needed to be used the correct way which is how they’ve been playing D under Doug and making the correct reads and easy plays on O. Monk has been huge as a pg
Pretty positive I have coached against them the last few years and for privacy won’t say, but man, you nailed it, (if it’s the team I think, going up the hill) they don’t have ANYONE I project to be a high level college player but they just play so good together.
BTW, definitely a stretch if it’s the correct school, you need stars in the NBA lol, you do not in HS girls basketball
Yup, we are that school up the hill. No stars but incredible team play.
Yeah, your MVP last year transferred from my school right before I took over….ugh lol
That team plays incredible and against ANY competition, it’s crazy how good they did in the state tourney last year playing up TWO WHOLE divisions…wild
We despise the new playoff seeding up here. Our little school should have a banner or two in their gym but instead get bumped up to play private schools three times the size of our public school. Like you said, two whole divisions!
“Go on…”
The Kings were hellbent on not letting Curry off the chain, and the Dubs were hellbent on not letting Fox off the chain. The Kings countered with DDR (and the always reliable Sabonis). The Dubs had no such counter, and therein lies the demise of the Warriors. As wonky as the fit of DDR can sometimes be, he once again showed last night why the team is better for having him, and why they might be a bit more formidable in the post season.
Props to Monk for the 4th quarter. For the first three quarters he was really one of the worst Kings on the floor. But they don’t win this game without him.
Murray, Ellis and Fox were a treat to watch on defense (the 22 made 3s by GS notwithstanding). There were more than a few defensive rotation mistakes over the first 30 minutes of the game, but the effort never waned and they locked it down late.
Ellis vs. Huerter should not even be a conversation anymore. I’m not sure that Carter vs. Huerter should even be a conversation.
Props to Fox for still contributing in a big way on defense and handling (no turnovers) on a night where the Dubs’ focus was to stymie him offensively.
Domantas Sabonis. Domantas Fucking Sabonis. What a joy. What a privilege. What a player.
Domas is all that is man
Monk’s dunks are so vicious. He not only dunks on other people’s heads–he’s not afraid to dunk on his OWN head!
(head-tapping gesture as I type this)
Monkstrous head dunk
definitely a head-scratcher!
If ever there was a time for Kayte to talk over a dunk during the game, this would’ve been the time.
Tell us a story, Kayte!
Did Keegan give Monk a thumbs-down for that dunk?
I think that it has been discussed lightly, but could Doug Christie be for real?
It was initially easy to dismiss Doug as the in-house owner hire. Vlade with a clipboard. And his ascension sure looked like a direct slap to Triano and Loucks, who were seen as Brown’s guys.
What was perhaps overlooked is that Christie made his bones in the NBA by being one of the truly great blue collar players, the guy that brought the lunch pail to work with him as part of the Kings greatest starting core. And as a player, a guy that could shoot enough to be taken seriously, pass well enough to benefit his team and teammates, and defend well enough to inspire his entire team. And his NBA glory came under Rick Adelman. What we may have not taken into consideration is that Doug Christie is a gym rat, a true student of the game, and someone that lives and loves the game of basketball.
I’m not ready to do the trust fall for Christie quite yet, but this team is playing (and especially closing) in a way that it was not just a month ago. There is a joy and freeness and effervescence to this team, which has finally decided to bring attitude and excitement to G1C and its fans. I hate to even wish for it, as it seems beyond reasonable comprehension. But how wonderful would it be if Doug Christie actually became the next great coach in Sacramento Kings history? It’s a long road to get there, but it is a road that we would not have even seen as remotely possible just a few weeks ago.
I mentioned in the post-game thread how bananas I think it is the Doug might actually be a really good coach considering how goofy he was as announcer. But hey, maybe his earnest, offbeat style is exactly what this team needed! In life, timing is everything.
For this team, he feels like older cousin/uncle energy which i think connects with this young team a bit more. MB seemed very dad, gonna do it my way or the highway types of vibes and wasn’t interested in anything new.
Doug was way too much for me as a commentator but he’s a lunch pale type player and it seems to have rubbed off on this team so far
I had the same thought when they put him in the interim coach role. But I’ll be darned if he hasn’t looked and sounded the part of competent coach. I am starting to think that a lot of his goofiness on TV was him playing to the audience for show.
He was sort of playing a role as an announcer. He has that side of his personality but also is very smart, and very intense when he needs to be. Mult-personalities
I remember Doug and the glory years team being devastated by that WCF loss. So much pain.
I really would love to see him win a championship with the Sacramento Kings as the head coach.
Yeah, I said it! Out loud.
JINX BE DAMNED.
Give this man a forever contract so he can finish this unfinished business.
I want to see him lead the Kings to a victory over the L*kers in the playoffs, where JJ ReDick runs on the court to protest a foul called on one of his players who tried to rough up a King, and then Doug walks on the court and uppercuts him.
“IT’S NOT A HAND. IT’S A FIST!”
I want to see him get a ceremonial gatorade bath after giving a postgame interview talking about “unfinished business” as they make it to the Finals.
I want to see him on a parade float down J Street and fist-bumping CWebb, Bibby, Vlade, Peja, Bobby, Rick Adelman, Jerry Reynolds, Gary Gerould, Slamson…the Jedi spirit of Coach Carrill… tapping his heart as he waves to all the Kings fans in the street.
I agree, man!
And that would be the ultimate way for Jerry Reynolds to complete a part 2 of his book Reynolds Remembers. The final chapter finishing that business.
I would be fully in favor of renaming J Street to Doug Christie Boulevard in that scenario.
Just rename it to (J)ackie Street.
I used to think J-Will Street would’ve made for a good street name change, but yeah, Doug Christie Boulevard would be awesome.
I think if there’s a legacy feel good hire who could succeed at probably any job you put him at it would be Doug fkn Christie (he’s earned that middle name…lol)
Doug’s spent most of his life succeeding at most things he puts his mind to, so I’m not surprised at all that he’s finding success as a head coach. I was a little surprised he got the bid over Luke and Jay as well but they obviously support the decision. Maybe because he’s actually deserving of the shot. There’s a pretty solid list of successful head coaches who started the job with little to no experience and there’s plenty of room for Doug on that list. Especially if he puts his mind to it.
I’m curious that if the season is successful with Doug as head coach, will the assistant coaches be retained since they are all technically Mike Brown’s staff, or if he would want his own?
“Kings fans, say hello to the new assistant coaches. This is YOUR team!”
Is Brad never not baked? Love that guy!
Speaking of which, we have not dusted off this classic in a while:

I think Doug absolutely should have agency in who he has on his bench with him. I also think the current group works very well together. A guy like Triano seems imperative, tho, for the experience factor as much as his X and Os. I wouldn’t really want to see Coach Loucks going anywhere, either. Especially if we make some progress in the playoffs.
Well, when he played he gave off coach vibes. On the radio he gave off coach vibes. On tv he gave off coach vibes. And I suppose as an assistant he gave off coach vibes (duh). He seems like a high-character guy and he’s ALWAYS been a high-energy guy (I relate). “That guy’s an idiot” is not something I would ever say about Doug Christie.
He’s EARNED his entrance into the pool of qualified applicants, and I say reward him. Don’t give him some Mickey Mouse contract and signify he needs to “earn it”.
He’s already earned it.
This is wild. Keon is now 8th in league in deflections per game, at just 21 MPG. He is 2nd in deflections Per36, behind only DPOY favorite Dyson Daniels. The kid is special.
Yeah, that’s amazing.
He’s still playing too few minutes, IMO.
30+ minutes for Keon, at a minimum. Reduce the Fox minutes a bit as he looks worn down a bit since that fall against the Grizzlies. Oh, and just NEVER play Huerter, like at all.
Huerter should play more !For Utah, for anyone
It feels like any and all 5 starters can close games. If we can sustain it it can result in a beautiful playoff run. Is this real life?

Keegan with lockdown defense, Domas Monk PNR, DDR Fox ISO/FT to close games. Fun times.
Please don’t boodhist.
