Keegan looking like a number one pick.
These low ceiling guys Monte keeps drafting sure do end up kicking a lot of ass
ESPN shows the Kings rocking a power forward and two small forwards.
Keegan is scoring confidently on 3 levels and defending well. We might have something here.
Things have been getting worse since Davion and Monk checked in – a theme this preseason. Let’s hope they both figure it out.
Dubs playing super small and Kings are jacking threes.
Dubs announcers are idiots. They haven’t mentioned one Kings sub until now.
the clock was running for 3 seconds before the Kings touched it on the inbounds and refs be like…. whatever. preseason
Vezenkov is really gonna be a defensive liability…
He’s already fitting in with the team.
I think he actually moves his feet fairly well, but I can’t really get a definitive read on his ability until he learns the defensive rotations because right now he seems to be late recognizing when he needs to drop off his man to provide help D and other rotations.
Monk and JaVale need to vibe… I blame McGee… old man needs to speed up his game.
Len seems better than McGee at this point.
I would not say that at all. I love Len but yea… no.
Colby Jones is gonna give this team important postseason minutes I’m calling it now
Colby running and “getting it”
Why am I listening to Warriors/San Francisco city commercials during the NBATV telecast… shouldn’t that happen during commercials and not from the play by play?
No offense to Slawson, but I still think TJD should’ve been the choice.
Holy shit, I want this every night from Davion.
Aggressive to the rim, unconscious from deep, and some nice passing mixed in too!
Yeah, he’s become a bit deferential to everyone else, I hope the coaches are telling him to drive aggressively and shoot more.
Announcers have completely abandoned calling the game at all. It’s a bunch of guys at an ice house talking about their vacations.
It’s derelict. I was lol for like 10 minutes not even talking about basketball let alone this game.
they’re awful, its like having to be forced to hear some loud people next to you talking about nothing during the entire game.
I get that it’s a local broadcast and they have a guest in the booth but I’ve never seen an interview last that long during a game.
Dubs announcers are jabber mouths. Nonstop talking.
Nobody told these guys they’re broadcasting to a national audience that doesn’t give a shit about the Warriors organizational dealings.
It’s 3:45 AM radio around 510 on the dial. The only other channel on the air is talking about UFO abductions.
Houston we have a problem. You must be in Europe or Africa
Further East.
Houston?
East continent. An old empire.
How do the Kings look on defense on an eyeball analysis?.
Colby Jones in this game was lit.
You are the best. A true fan… Aliens abducted our Sasquatch and then other stuff happened. Warriors play by play will be talking about it during the next game broadcast.
I don’t know who these TV announcers are….. I will find you… And I will mute you. With the volume device.
Seriously, there were 3 guys in the booth and they went the ENTIRE 2nd Q without mentioning the game going on in front of them until Paul’s missed 3 with 2.7 secs left in the Q. They’re a joke.
I almost feel sorry for Warriors fans to have to listen to those dipshits prattling on all season…..almost.
So it looks like Jones might have been able to leap in front of Ellis and Edwards for mins to start the season. He’s received all of what would’ve been Duarte’s mins so far.
eyeballs emoji
????
What’s not to like? 6’5″ smooth athlete that defends multiple positions, knocks down shots inside and outside, and has a high IQ and feel for the game. I love this kid.
The commentary on this game is so bad, I logged on to the site to see if maybe I’d gone crazy. How do these guys have a job. Thank god we got Katy, Kyle & Mark.
The Dubs’ announcers? They’re terrible. They’re not good and their voices are annoying.
Fox with two hand lay ups…. I remember the last game…. and the words after.
I feel like the Warriors announcers are trying to keep fans from leaving the organization…. Why?
Monk has lost his man 3x times tonight.
Nope
Okay, thanks for correcting me.
I can’t be 100% certain since I don’t know what their instructions were but it looks like he’s lost his assigned man 2x when he and Mitchell switched and another when he and Huerter switched.
I would trust that Mitchell is more aware of his defensive assignment than Monk, just giving him the benefit of the doubt. It might be a lack of communication from his teammates, but its happening.
I mean I’m not adjudicating… I might be trusting Monk too much. I Trust Monk..
Davion has 14 points and Monk 7…
Chris Paul looking pretty good.
Letting rotation players go pretty late for preseason
Is Lyles available tonight? Just wondering since he hasn’t played.
Is it Kumanga or Kumango I’ve heard it both from these announcers.
Warriors refs continue to get caught cheating. I like the new rule.
Warriors need to get better. This is garbage play by the Kings.
I am an hour behind (watching the LP stream from PHX) and fast forwarding commercials.
Mitchell’s shooting improvement finally showing? Man his shot looks totally different tonight. Huerter came out aggressive too. Keegan looks great. Colby looks pretty good. This game has looked more like the Beam Team than any other game (outside 1st quarter of the previous game) so far in the preseason.
Very excited about the season.
Fox’s knee/leg okay? Looks like he hurt it 2x in 1st qtr.
The announcers do make me appreciate what we have and miss jerry and (tv) grant.
Watching the League Pass Warriors broadcast because there’s no Kings broadcast. All I can say is their broadcasters are d-bags, wow. They’ve been ragging on Sabonis all game. “Sabonis got dunked on!” “He dunked on Sabonis’ head AGAIN!” “Sabonis is playing like he’s mad at the world, haha”
lol Steph curry 3 for the loss
Saric grabbing Sabonis but foul on Sabonis…
yeah
Warriors need some ref time right now
Dubs network shows 2 bad angles of Steph going out. Then finally a third good angle. ????
“Well, I can’t see whether he’s out of bounds!”
Steph laying out of bounds when he grabs ball.
Warriors commentors ” Give the Warriors…. Give the Warriors” literal commentary from the feed.
“Give the Warriors a chance for something special to happen.” ^$#@ off with that. Steph was over the line in the view from above.
Kings can never beat this team when the refs F$#@ them in one way or another.
It’s going to be a bit of a frustrating season.
If I was Brown, I would be railing at the bench for blowing that big ass lead.
I’d be railing everyone for not caring about defense.
Another entertaining preseason game.
Aside from some improvement in Keegan’s game, this preseason did nothing to show there was any addressing last year’s issues. Especially on defense, as it’s as porous as ever. In some offensive areas, new issues may have even arisen. Based on the schedule to start the season, I wouldn’t be surprised to have another 0-4 opening.
Huerter is just wearing out his welcome, from the garbage last half of last year til now, and I certainly hope he isnt starting when the regular season hits
Javalle McGee is a Foul Waiting to Happen. He’s a Turnover Waiting to Happen. Any time he ventures onto the perimeter, he’s begging to get torched. He’s not as good as he thinks he is. His shot blocking presence is not worth the carelessness with which he plays. He lacks balance, hands and temperment. I have little use for him absent a time machine back to 2018 when he was a functional player.
I am afraid we signed him, the GM catering to the coach against his better judgment, based on who we was rather than who he is, and when the better backup center (Len) is under our nose.
It would be unfortunate if we spend 10-15 games realizing McGee cant’t play, cough away 3-4 games with him fumbling around when we would cruise to victory on his absence. I hope to be proven wrong and he starts to minimze the blunders. Uuntil then, I dub him Mr. McBlunder.
Kevin Huerter is in trouble. The guy is headed for the Doghouse. He’s already there, in fact, he’s been demoted to the second team, it just hasn’t been made official. He’s our new backup SF on his way to getting squeezed out of the rotation. Chris Duarte and Colby Jones are the future. Kevin is the past, a trade candidate for OG and Jerami Grant.
The Warriors were ripe to be ran off the court last night, and would have had Duarte been available, yet Kevin helped them right back into the game, just like he helped them to Round 2.
Kevin was 8 for 39 from 3s in the Playoffs. Let that sink in. That’s an 80% brick rate which he replicated last night (1 for 5). How many of those 3s were wide open? The post mortem revolved around Kevin needing to be in better shape to run and gun. Fair, but are we then to accept the time between the end of the regular season and start of the playoffs, and the additional days between playoff games was NOT enough for Kevin to have his legs under him?
Then there was all summer to transform and transcend, to come to camp leaner and meaner, perhaps with more burst, more of resolve and skill, using the bitter disappointment as fuel to new heights. Instead, looks like the same dude.
It was hilarious when Jason Anderson asked the coach about Hueter’s play and he responded “okay”. Okay is code word for “sucks” or diplomatic way of saying “trash”.
Now Kevin is in sulk mode. At best he’s apathetic. He’s confused. Boo-hoo, I lost my starting job. I am sensing a little too much “me, myself and I” from the Red Herring.
What is confusing about the consequences of missing 80% of your 3s, over 5 bricks per game, in the biggest games of the season, and lacking the agility and anticipation to keep your man in front of you, get through screens, take charges, then wonder why the coach does not exhibit endless loyalty and trust in you?
Do you know what would be confusing? Failure for there to be consequences and recourse given an appealing option worth the risk. That calculated risk is Chris Duarte, who probably reminds Christie of his former self, a two way fundamentally sound player who can regain and build upon his rookie season that had him bidding for the ROY.
Starting in Utah, start of the new season, the Duarte Era, how many possessions does Duarte’s speed up the opponent to do what they don’t want to do? I am eagerly anticipating this. To force into turnover or rushed shot. This is the secret sauce. to have a weapon like this in your first (Duarte) and second (Davion) unit.
The ability to harass PG, SG and SFs is not subject to a lot of variance unlike, say, shot making. With Duarte, you don’t have to worry about him getting shot happy or shot reluctant. He has good discernment in this regard, not thirsty, but also not shy. He is really good in transition, complementing Fox, so he should be good for near 4-8 PPG just on fast break opportunities.
The appeal therefore is the consistency that Duarte projects to bring: versatile defense and leg speed vs the inconsistency of Kevin’s shooting. Davion and Keegan expanding their offensive repertoire, more potency and effieciency, as on display last night, furthers makes Huerter irrelevant.
When Sasha V has the ball on the wing, with space to operate, sometimes with a smaller defender, why does he not even look at the rim? He is playing hot potato on the perimeter instead of a jab step or an interior pass. He’s doing nothing to advance the offense, he looks scared to assert himself.
If Davions shot is butter, watch out league! A devastating two way player is born. Davion needs to wear his hair in the high afro all season, this is the key to his emergence. Per my expert assessment, this will make all the difference, creating the illusion of a 6’2” player. His shot looks better, the spin and arc looks better. I suspect he was putting way too much arc on his shot. He was shooting a Moon Ball, which increased the margin for error.
ATTENTION FANTASY PLAYERS:
Step 1: Sell your stock in Huerter, McBlunder and Sasha
Step2: Buy stock in Duerte, Jones, Keegan and Davion.
Step 3: Profit.
i am not as high as you on said players. Outside of Keegan. Davion’s performance is most likely an aberration. Not par for the course. Colby is a decent back up. That’s all he is .But I suspect if Dray and Looney are playing this game. Kings still don’t win Duarte is an upgrade over Huerter. But to me he is a borderline starter. Especially when I see the rest of the powerhouse 2 guards in the upper echelon of the West and East.
Even Keegan’s performance is skewed. Keegan would not be getting half of those looks with Dray frosted over him. While I do see a definitive jump in his offensive game. He’s also pretty bad defensively. He doesn’t scare neither Wiggens or Kuminga.
Team had an 18 pt lead. They gave up 40 to a team missing 40 percent of their starting lineup. Color me impressed. I can’t blame Huerter for all that. And Duarte wouldn’t have made all that difference either if he was on the court. Klay had a terrible night. And Duarte is not nearly in the class of Wiggens. Sasha is showing me he is a joke. He does one thing only. Spot shoot. Can’t dribble,
Can’t create, does not pass, and is so flabby, he couldn’t penetrate to save his life. And defense. It makes Barnes look like a First Team All Star in Defense.
Most of the starters can lay blame to the same old implosion defensively.
So, I don’t see what you do. And last nights loss is so typical of what the Kings did last year on defense.
That was Great game, felt like the playoffs already!
I hate to say it, but Barnes looks like he’s definitely lost a step.
Man, I hope that last year’s postseason play from some of our guys doesn’t carry into this season.
