So the Kings are playing the Nuggets for the third time in two weeks and I’ve run out of motivation to write about how good Nikola Jokic is or how much I love Mike Malone or how Domantas Sabonis’ addition could signal a copying of Denver’s blueprint. I’m plain tuckered out on most things Kings related… even with all the excitement post-deadline, these last few weeks have been longer than a month of Sundays.
Hey speaking of Domantas, the man is out tonight after the league suspended him without pay for “aggressively confronting and making contact with a game official… bumping the official in a hostile manner”. You can find the horrific act of violence against the poor referee here.
Alright, let’s find something to talk about!
When: Monday, March 9th, 7:00 PM PT
Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, CA
TV: NBCSCA – Kyle Draper (play-by-play)
Radio: KHTK Sports 1140 AM
For Your Consideration
Take a Jok’: So it should be said that I’m not expecting much from this game tonight now that I know Domas Sabonis is out with the aforementioned hip check, face spit, leg stomp and swing at the head of the referee in Monday night’s game. Fox is going to have a chance to prove that his high level of play these last few weeks is more than just a Domas related event… I can say I look forward to that I guess. I can also say that I’m looking forward to seeing extended minutes for Richaun Holmes who is still very much on the struggle bus and actually, a chance for most of these role players to come out and play a good, consistent game. [Editor’s note: Holmes is also out of this game, so Will has even less to look forward to.] Justin Holiday has struggled mightily, Donte DiVincenzo still isn’t back to his pre-ankle injury antics, Jeremy Lamb was struggling before his injury. Without Sabonis tonight the Kings will go back to being Fox-centric and I’m really interested to see who all steps up to the plate.
Outside of that, it’s another opportunity to possibly donate to a great Sacramento-centric cause and probably another reason to really jump into the draft research for the coming off-season. I’m a bit out of steam today… nothing truly Kings related. I could rant about Bones Hyland I guess, but you all will end up knowing that name in time I think. MPJ sounds like he’ll be back for the Nuggets soon, just in time for a playoff run… but I have no interest in the man so… nothing to talk about there. I’ll be more re-energized in a few days. Please talk amongst yourselves here.
Prediction
Neemias Queta gets minutes tonight and nabs his first double-double with 13 points, 14 boards. Mike Malone’s purple-less streak continues.
Kings: 114, Nuggets: 111
Tanks a lot NBA for suspending Sabonis!
What a Domas.
Domas got ejected last game;
His one game suspension is lame.
Of late we’ve blown leads
‘Cause of defensive needs.
Now Denver should put us to shame!
A win tonight and we stave off being mathematically eliminated from the 6th seed!

Vivek keeping up the losses to break the record for longest playoff dought in sports franchise history:
A feast?

Just imagine: Fifty years from now, you’ll be able to FutureGoogle™ this game, and there will be information alleging that it happened.
I’ll be very impressed if the Kings only lose by 75.
The record deficit loss is by 73, so you’re not far off.
Watch Jokic sit out bc of an “injury”
In all seriousness, the Kings should just rest Fox tonight. No point in him trying to carry the load with Sabonis out. If Gentry tries to compete and play Fox for 40+ minutes, he just might get him hurt.
Fox should treat tonight like Senior Ditch day.
Half the team just may play hooky anyway.
