The team has 3 or 4 players worth building around Fox, Haliburton, Holmes and maybe Bagley. He’s slowly improving. Everyone else should be considered tradable, with Barnes and Hield at the top of the list. This roster is never going to play defense well enough for the team to make the playoffs, although it will deceive with bursts of offense.. McNair needs to remake the roster with players of his own choosing that can play the system he wants. Needless to say, it will probably require a new coach as well.
Switch out Holmes for Barnes and you got a good foundation. Holmes is what I’ve said all season, a bad defensive center. Foul machine and occasional rim protection does not equal good defense. He has value as a Harrell type bench big but not a starter.

Definitely think Holmes should be on this team and would have a role in an effective center rotation. Just need another effective big body that’s not Whiteside.

The Magic loss was due to Fox being out. Like, I said before this team benefited from other teams injuries during that streak . A primary reason they won a lot of those games. Let me stress, that is still progress for the Kings Beating teams they’re supposed to. But, This team is no better than a sub ,500 team with this lineup of players.
