Now that the Sacramento Kings have been eliminated from the NBA Cup after going 0-4, they have been rewarded with two extra games against top Western Conference teams. The Kings will now play the Denver Nuggets (13-5) at home at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 and the Timberwolves (10-8) in Minnesota at 4 p.m. on Dec. 14.Sacramento beat both of these teams in back to back games earlier this week. So beating them both again should be no problem, right? Right. On the bright side, this should help the unintentional tank.

I prefer to call it “Ethical Tanking”
Boy does that picture say a thousand words.
More watching JV abuse our ‘big’ men haha, Max and Drew the two softest centers you can find.
That picture kind of exemplifies Perry’s ineffectiveness to me. The guy he let go is demolishing the guy he brought in. Perry seems like a “one step forward, three steps back” kind of guy to me, and Vivek will keep him around as long as he’s obedient.
Keep the tank ROLLING!
Twolves and Nuggs are doing zero extra preparation to stop the Kings. Just 5 guys standing on the perimeter. One has the ball. Then a high screen, then one on three or hoist a 30 footer and lose the rebound. An occasional assist on a kickout or back door. Kangz.
This.
It’s 1-4 flat without the flat. Just 4 dudes standing on the perimeter waiting for a pass so they too can iso or take a contested 3.
Whoops, meant to reply to Adam’s post below…
Have any of you happened to catch Jim Kozimor’s recent comments on the Kings ownership. It provides a VERY BLEAK forecast for the present and future
He goes on to talk about what a lot(or some) have known or speculated. He mentions how Matina is ruthless and cold when it comes to her business dealings, as well as her control of the local media. Vivek is also very reliant on Matina and they’re basically tied at the hip.
He also mentions the both Vivek and Matina “hear” the fanbase frustration and criticism, but also mentions that both “think very little of the fanbase” as well.
Make sure to read all the responsed to the thread because he responds to most of the comments.
This, once again, sounds like an ownership group that thinks very little of the city and fans. Be warned.
This is one of my ultimate fears – Vivek either sells the team to the highest bidder, whatever city they’re from, or his unbelievable incompetence drives the league to contraction. If the league decides to contract, I don’t think there’s any doubt right now as to which franchise is number one on the contraction list. Either way, Vivek probably makes out like a bandit financially and the Sacramento fans are left with nothing.
I don’t see the NBA ever contracting, but I could see a uber billionare coming in and making an offer Vivek (and the NBA) can’t refuse. Then said new owner could move the team to wherever they wish. Larry Ellison and his ego scare the hell out of me and we know he already tried to buy the Warriors.
If he offers to drop $5B on the Kings but it means the team is moving to Vegas, I don’t think the league stops him this time.
You have to wonder what Nuggets and Timberwolves fans did wrong to have to watch the Kings.
The Kings have a lot of competition in the tank department. They could win 20 games and still get the ninth pick in the draft.
