As I write this, it’s been almost a full day since the Sacramento Kings defeated the Charlotte Hornets 125 to 102. I feel a sense of obligation to get a recap written. Normally, wins are pretty easy to motivate myself to write recaps for, but I’m still struggling here. And to anyone not paying close attention this season it may seem confusing. After all, this win has major implications in Sacramento’s standing in their pursuit of the play-in. And making the play-in, or missing it, have major implications for the team’s first round pick, as well as how major of a shakeup we may see this summer for the roster and the front office. And I know that there have been years when any sliver of hope at making the postseason would have had me really excited, but I still can’t find it in me to get excited for the final games of this franchise’s self-sabotaged season.
And yet, fully locked into my Stockholm Syndrome, I still had this game on my tv yesterday. I watched it with a sense of curiosity, wondering if the Kings would manage to collapse and lose another embarrassing game after that Wizards loss. The Kings came out…not strong, but they came out fine. In the end they cruised to victory, as should have been expected against a team like the Hornets. But it made me sad that it was ever in doubt. Gun to my head yesterday before the game, I couldn’t have told you how I thought it was going to turn out. It’s good the Kings won, I suppose. But I don’t know how different this recap would have been if they’d lost instead.
All the right guys had good games. Domantas Sabonis had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. Zach LaVine led the way with 25 points, and also had 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan added 22 points, and Malik Monk added 17 points off the bench. The Hornets were led by 22 points from a piece of shit.

The Kings play the Cavaliers on Sunday. Gun to my head, I have a better idea how I expect that one to go.
Vivek plays for the Hornets?

Kings won, but

Miles Bridges is an excellent player–someone the Kings would love to have on their roster.
Sarcasm……….right?
Thank you, no.
Or, OR and hear me out… no.
In case you don’t know, here are some highlights…
Miles Bridges was suspended for ‘22-‘23 season for beating his former girlfriend (mother of his children) in front of their 2 kids (allegedly from the charges, he strangled her so forcefully the muscles in her neck were torn, nose broken, wrist broken, fractured eardrum, she became unconscious).
He was then suspended into the ‘23-‘24 season for breaking his restraining order for throwing billiard balls at his ex’s car with his kids inside. Broke the windows, dented the car, his current girlfriend kicking the car.
I don’t really care what his play is on the court, I have zero interest in seeing him on an NBA court, let alone in my team’s jersey.
So what? You are not above the law lol
Greg, kudos to you sticking with it and writing something sensible about these games where a flaming poop emoji would have sufficed.
Flaming poop emoji will be our 2nd round pick this summer, but he’ll get a lot of burn.
Hotter than fish grease, smellier than ownership!
Second round pick? Listen, I have yet to see C. Considerations play, but I hear he’s excellent at dropping dimes.
Edited for accuracy.
“I watched it with a sense of curiosity,
wondering ifhoping the Kings would manage to collapse and lose another embarrassing game.”To hope for anything from this team – win or lose – is to care about this team. And that’s where I’m at. I care only so that I may converse with this amazing community.
I hope to care about this team again someday, but I have trouble envisioning it under this ownership.
I have a quality team in my life, quality ownership, major success. I’m a positive fan of that team, no need to complain. All rainbows and unicorns out of my butt.
The Kings are run by clowns, so as a fan I’m a clown. I root for one embarrassing loss after another. It doesn’t seem logical to expect the next asset they acquire to change anything, I’m not falling for it.
Just roll out your next marketing strategy, target those who still believe, and I’ll be over here watching them fail yet again.
