The game remained close throughout the first half with the Bulls holding a 63-61 lead at half. The Kings leaned on dominance in the paint with 28 points there. Domantas Sabonis played a big part in that while closing in on a triple double. Malik Monk had 13 first half points. The Bulls shot the ball well from three with Lonzo Ball going 4-5 from beyond the arc. Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine both had 13 points. Both teams had good ball movement, with the Kings tallying 18 assists. The Kings only shot 22% from three, however. De’Aaron Fox had 9 points and 5 rebounds in the first half after returning from injury.
The third quarter featured a smaller lineup from Doug Christie that provided a spark on offense and helped the team climb out of a small deficit. The Kings tightened up the defense at the end of the third also, forcing the Bulls into a three-minute scoring drought. Fox hit a buzzer-beating three at the end of the quarter to give the Kings a two-point lead. Zach LaVine was hot from the field for most of the game, including the third quarter, but the Kings ball movement and rebounding put them in a good position.
The Kings took control of the game late in the fourth quarter with defensive stops, and then with 14 seconds left and the Kings holding onto a three-point lead, the Bulls were forced into a 5 second inbound violation.
Another hard-fought win for the Doug Christie Kings.
The Good
- Paint production: The Kings won the points in the paint battle 56-42
- Balanced scoring: All five starters scored in double digits and each of the four players off the bench scored as well, with Keon Ellis leading the way with 8 points in 20 minutes.
- Timely Defense: The Kings had trouble stopping the Bulls from three in this game, but when it counted, they made it happen in crunch time, and to climb out of the third quarter deficit.
- De’Aaron Fox’s return: Fox finished with 26 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block in his return after the injury.
- Sharing is caring: 33 assists and only 8 turnovers. The Kings also only conceded three points off of those 8 turnovers.
The Bad
- Perimeter defense: While the Kings had some timely stops, the Bulls shot 46% from the field and 48% from three. LaVine finished with 36 points on 5-8 from three and 12-24 from the floor. Lonzo Ball also went 5-8 from three.
The Ugly
- Nothing, we have 7 wins in a row, let’s enjoy it.
Kings Of The Day
- De’Aaron Fox’s day was already highlighted, but Sabonis had 22 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Malik Monk had 18 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Up Next
The Kings will take on the Bucks in Milwaukee on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PST.
Well now we just have to go for ten. Bucks and Rockets should be cake.
Lol, love it!
I’ll take 11 just to watch Doug hang another L on that asshole Kerr.
Might as well make it an even dozen since MMalone would be next up on the revenge tour.
In just 8 games Doug Christie has matched Mike Brown’s longest winning streak (as Kings HC) of 7 games.
Was at the game, here’s the view from Section 105.
Sabonis was incredible in all aspects of the game. In the first quarter, as the Bulls went up by as much as 8, Sabonis made play after play to get the Kings a bucket and get stops. A special player, he deserves more recognition.
Keon’s defense was fire most of the time he was on the court. Fun to watch, and hits his threes. All the commenters who say he should be getting 30 minutes per game are probably right.
Fox made big buckets, especially from 3, all day long. He looked like he was playing in 2nd gear most of the game and still got 26-9-3.
At one point in the 2nd quarter Lyles was 0-5 from 3 and Malik (who played his heart out again) 1-6 or something, and the game was basically tied. If they make even half of those shots this could easily have been a blowout.
Go Kings! Light the beam! 7 in a row!
Really good defense in 5 seconds solidified the win. How many times in a crucial point of the game do you get that call. Takes five to do it. GO KINGS! Take them one at a time.
Only when the other team is out of timeouts. Save a possession early in the game to lose one in the worst possible time.
fixed
Thanks for this! I didn’t get a chance to watch the game so nice to hear first hand account. Not surprised one bit about Domas.
Love hearing Keon continues to wreck havoc.
Was fox meshing well with the new style of play? I’d like to think he’ll only get more comfortable as time goes on.
light the beeeeeeeeaaaaaammmmmmm!!!!
Maybe it was because of DDR’s return to Chicago and Fox’s return from injury, but there were 2 styles of play tonight; (1) playing through Monk and Domas with ball movement and picks, or
(2) watching DDR put blinders on, dribble the air out of the ball and take a contested shot.
Doug still has some challenges ahead with this roster.
What was the reaction in the arena to the five-second call? Bulls post-game broadcast was super salty about it. Said it was “only three seconds”. (For the record, I timed it and it was more like 6.3 seconds.)
Shock and disbelief once it registered, as the Bulls were only down 3. (Most in the arena didn’t know what the whistle was for for about half a minute.)
The guy behind me rocking head-to-toe Bulls gear was disgusted and called it “a high-school level mistake”.
It was definitely more than 5 seconds, I was watching the referee marking them with his arm, and I was sure they were just going to let it go — but then they didn’t!
The high-school level mistake was the Bulls running out of timeouts.
I wanna see fox monk keon Keegan sabonis, and fox keon deebo keegan sabonis lineups get a lot more minutes. Those sound like some tasty platters.
Realistically, how do you think Demar would respond to being asked to be the 6th man?
I don’t think he or monk would like to go to bench roles, and I wasn’t necessarily advocating for those to be starting lineups, just that I want to see those lineups get more time.
Makes me wonder, if MB started keon from the beginning, and never opened the monk as a starter can of worms, if a) he would still have his job b) if not, Ellis starting w deebo, and monk back to a super 6th man would be my preference. I like monk as a 6th man over deebo for change of pace.
I think next year if he’s still here, there’s a more realistic chance of deebo going to the bench.
But yeah, I don’t really see a world where one of deebo or monk is benched for keon to start :/
It’s gonna be a bridge that needs to be crossed eventually. Every aging star player reaches the point where they are better served coming off the bench with limited minutes. Carmelo did it, Paul Pierce did it, and more recently Westbrook is doing it. Christie is going to have to handle egos at some point, but if the analytics show that the team is best served with Monk and/or DDR coming off the bench, then Doug better have the balls to make that switch. That or Monte needs to make some moves.
I say and/or in terms of Monk and DDR, because if Monte were to go out and somehow acquire a guy like Cam Johnson or John Collins, the team may be better served with them starting next to Sabonis and Keegan while Keon starts next to Fox. Yes, I can see a scenario where BOTH Monk and DDR come off the bench, if Monte can make the right moves.
I remember a time, it was with the Kings, I believe, when Jae Crowder was a starter from his very first game with the club, but was later moved to the bench, and he seemed okay with it.
Is that guy still in the NBA?
Westbrook is back to starting for the Nuggets
I’ve always been a Westie fan.
Just my opinion, but too often, what a player can’t do overshadows what they can. He ain’t Steph Curry when it comes to shooting. One of his many skills, and one I admire when watching a game, is intensity – and he has an overwhelming amount of that. He is fun to follow in game situations (to me).
I can recall back when he was a Sonic with KD, and they played him like a free safety on the ball. It was dynamite to watch.
Both fox and monk have higher net rating when paired w Ellis.
Absolutely agree with the last part if a trade is made. As of now, monk should go to bench in favor of Ellis. But if we trade bench players + picks for one of the players mentioned, not sure if I’d want deebo starting or not, kinda depends on matchup IMO.
I wish NBA coaches would tinker w their starting lineups more, like soccer coaches for example. Mazzula got a lot of insight from Pep Guardiola, one of the current best soccer coaches, in coaching Boston’s title winning team.
Some games deebo should start, some games cam Johnson should start.
Shoot, I only have fox, Murray and sabonis as nailed on starters tbh. The other 2 starting spots should be flex’d as needed depending on matchup.
With the Cavs losing today, we now have the league’s longest winning streak!
And-1, seven games matches the longest win streak from the first beam team year. Let’s extend this one longer
43 more.
No.
59 more!
And Boston only beat New Orleans by one point.
Kings have broken Boston!? Time for Celts to have a team meeting in the Green Room?
Maybe, like Joe Mazzulla said in his presser – the Kings are revived and playing well.
Nah!
Rise the Hot Hand! Onward to Cream City to curdle Doc Rivers.
Went on to NBA.com. No mention of the Kings win or win streak. /smh.
Next.
Really? It was the first story pictured for me this morning. As it was an early game they probably updated it for the West coast…
LOL, rise the hot hand! I haven’t heard that one in a while. CowboyRon lives on!
LTB! Kings on a 2 weeks winning streak!
And the last time the Sacramento Kings on a 3 and 4 weeks winning streak? 01-02 season
Is the Doug Christie change really contributing to this streak or are we just getting some good bounces?
It’s Doug. You see it in the effort from the players.
I think it’s a combo of both. Not sure they win all those asterisk games. Dallas missing its entire starting lineup, Heat with no Jimmy. Grizz with no Ja,-Smart, Or Aldama, Philly no Embiid.
Dubs are really a .500 team at best, Bulls are what they are. Boston are in their typical mid season when are the playoffs malaise. 7-6 over the last 13. Celtics treat the regular season like a formality. It’s showing in. Their play.
Christie is doing a great job maximizing the Kings roster. Without a doubt. He’s definitely got my attention. Good vibes aside. Playing locked in and healthy exp playoff teams will come down to Xs and Os. Not hugs and kisses. So we’ll see.
They are catching some breaks along the way though. Part of the reason Media is not paying attention to this streak as much.
8 of their next 11 look tough. So we will find out if this is sustainable or new coach energy love affair.
Bucks
Rockets
Wizards
Warriors
Nuggets
Nets
Knicks
Sixers
Twolves
Thunder
Magic
I don’t know what’s worst to do? Finding faults from each win from current 7 games winning streak. Or trying to find answers from 6 games losing streak.
C’mon! Glass half full, not half empty!
At the very least, Doug has them winning games that they should be winning. At some point other teams will figure it out and we come back down to earth. A number of tough ones coming up so if we go 6-5 over those next 11 games, I’d be okay. 7-4, ecstatic!
Give me 8-3, because I’m greedy.
The dead coach bounce is a thing, but I haven’t seen or heard of one lasting this long. The only real difference I see from Brown to Christie is a different kind of defensive intensity and the obvious increase in minutes for Keon. I honestly haven’t noticed any difference on offense other than Keegan getting his shot to fall again.
The biggest thing on offense is they’ve been shooting more 3’s which is a good thing. They’ve all so been making more which doesn’t make a ton of sense to me but who knows, maybe it’s just all confidence? What I know is I’ve never seen anything like this.
Really? I’ve noticed quite a few things. Players know their role and are being given minutes to learn it and excel at it. When other teams go on runs against us the coach calls a timeout to gather the troops and get the ship pointed in the right direction BEFORE the other team has taken the wind completely out of their sails. When the players make mistakes he holds them accountable instead of holding their minutes hostage. The players are bought in and giving maximum effort as opposed to letting loose rebounds drop between 2 purple jerseys only for an opposing player to snatch it up while they watch. Not only are they hustling back on defense, they are hustling in their rotations. That’s motivation. They’re self-correcting when they list a little to one side or another as a team on the floor and the coaching staff is making in game adjustments to break an opponents game plan instead of trying to force the team to make the game plan break their opponent.
In other words, they look like a decent, competitive basketball team as opposed to the listless, shite one. Finally.
The Kings weren’t exactly in ideal situations in these games either. There were legit reasons to lose all of them except the Mavs. It was embarrassing that that one was a game.
-“Heat with no Jimmy.” Kings with no De’Aaron.
-“Grizz with no Ja.” Kings with no De’Aaron.
-“Dubs are really a .500 team at best.” Kings with no De’Aaron, below .500 rival on the road.
-“Philly no Embiid.” Kings with no Keegan.
-“Bulls are what they are.” Winners of 4 in a row at home. Kings on the road in a cold-snap frozen wasteland.
-“Boston are in their typical mid season when are the playoffs malaise. Celtics treat the regular season like a formality. It’s showing in their play.” Kings with no De’Aaron and decided to out-effort the champs on the road. Their malaise last year caused them to finish 64-18? Wow. Didn’t realize it was bottom of the barrel competition in Boston.
I think it’s both. They’ve been much better and a little lucky too. I’ve just never seen a team look this dead, fire their coach and then just beat everyone. It’s pretty rare. They’re going to lose some games at some point because I STILL think the roster is pretty flawed but I guess you just enjoy it while it lasts.
When Mike Brown was fired this was basically my hope – that it was less about scheme and coaching and more that for whatever reason long term relationships end up with both sides ending up like Charlie Brown talking to an adult*. You swap the coach and everyone communicates again, it doesn’t even particularly matter who the swap is for.
Love Doug Christie and he should ride this streak as hard as possible but I’m not sure how durable it will be. In the moment, though, fuck yeah
*happily married for 15 years, this is definitely a thing and we consciously reset when it goes that way
Malik deserves some more love.
Here’s a nice video someone made recently about Monk’s contributions:
Interesting side note (to me, anyway)
Sacramento lost on an amazing 4 point play to the Detroit Pistons which then led to the Mike Brown firing.
On the Detroit side: The Pistons entered Golden1 Center tied with the Kings at identical 13-17 records. D-troit went to 14-17, Sacramento 13-18.
I looked tonight and again, both teams are tied with 20-19 records. That’s with the Kings going 7-1! That means Pistons are 6- 2 in their last 8. So what, right?
Pistons were 3-36 at this time last season. That’s +17 and it isn’t even mid-season (they finished last season at 14-68).
I know they altered their roster somewhat, but – Coaching is something, ain’t it? Amazeballs.
And they signed Monty Williams to that huge contract and ended up firing him after one year.
Kinda like Beam Team Year One for them, they got a new coach, brought in shooting, opened up the floor for their shot creators, and are surprising the league.
Cade Cunningham is also quietly putting up MVP numbers at 24, 9, and 6. IMO, the guy should be a lock for All-NBA. I was shocked how he looked like a man amongst boys when they played the Kings.
Sabonis
20, 14, 6
will he get All-NBA?
He sure all hell should.
Not good enough to be an All-Star, but maybe All-NBA
Western Conference 5s:
Jokic
AD
Wemby
Sabonis
Eastern Conference 5s
KAT
Bam
Embiid
Porzingas
That doesn’t include Gobert, Sengün, Jaren Jackson, Jr., Chet, Jarrett Allen, Mobley
Lots of size to prize in The Association right now
I think Jokic is going to be the people’s choice by a long shot, so it will definitely be up to the coaches to vote Domas in. And if we’re going by numbers it would almost be criminal to not have him in the frontcourt as a reserve. He’s a top 5 player in the West right now and you could make an argument for top 3.
And as much as it kills me, LeBron’s #’s… ffs. He plays no defense except when he wants to, but he’s still pretty impressive everywhere else and absolutely deserves his 400th all-star appearance this year.
OT: Trey Lyles in his last 10 games is averaging 10/6/1 in 24mpg on .46/.45/.84 shooting with 1.1 stocks. This is exactly the production we’ve been needing out of him this season. If he can stabilize this it will make him invaluable to the team.
Good shout out. Lyles makes a difference with motor. Coaches are always saying “make them feel you”, and Lyles does that. Goes for every loose ball, every rebound, and always knows where to be on the court. Very smart and physical player.
I just said this in the other thread … but dang this is a lot more fun than the first 31 games
I felt more confident about Sacramento’s ability to get a stop at the end of that game than I have in a very, very long time. Possibly ever.
RIGHT?! For the last 20 years, the only way the Kings would get a stop is if they had the ball…
I actually felt the opposite when Doug went back to the starters for the final 90 seconds and put Keon on the bench. I was waiting for that shoe to fall, but thankfully it didn’t.
I need more on the story of Demar showing the team DC’s highlight tapes.
Probably the biggest 180 I’ve seen a team and fanbase do in a two-week span. Insane.
I want to see this too!
Hope it ended with an uppercut
Obligatory.

This will always get a rec from me.
I wondered to myself if DDR and Christie ever played each other, then felt incredibly old when I learned Doug retired two years before DDR entered the league. FWIW, Doug retired at age 36. DDR will turn 36 the summer.
I heard it was a complete 360.
-Keegan
I’m sure he meant it like a Malik full 360 dunk.
I mean he is from Iowa. Doing a 180 and a 360 is same thing cause all you see is corn.
Ears for as long as your Eyes can see
Simple musing of a simple man.
First, it has been a wonderful injection of something new into this team. As of right now they are responding very well. I have to keep telling myself, that this team as constructed “should” have been in the top 4-6 of the western conference. So what they are doing right now is most of our original expectations.
As i wait for the other shoe to drop, i have to keep reminding myself, that these players are still VERY good.. and maybe they just needed someone to remind them of that…
Second, the guard situation.. this cannot continue. Monte has to do something.. without disrupting the flow of this team. there is to many undersized guards on this team with not enough space and time to play them. The fact that we have 6 guards that all should see playing time is INSANE. the wildest part of this is that theres really no overlap in regards to skill set.. it’s like 6 almost totally different pieces that don’t do the same things.
I don’t envy Monte, but he’s got to try and do something that doesn’t blow up these teams momentum.
Last, it’s really frustrating seeing this team play this well and connected after the horrible start to the year. this 7 game win streak would have been so much more fun, had we not been 6 games below .500 when it started. I keep thinking about being 17-15 or 16-16 and then going crazy and ripping off these wins and being 4th in the standings. ( sigh ).
Im not sure what my overall feelings are right now on this team.. but they are fun to root for again, and they are fun to watch. the product on court has energy and seems inspired once again.
confirmed we are going 43-0 the rest of the way.
GO KANGZ
Yes the Kings have too many quarts. I think the 2 most logical for a trade is Kevin Huerter and Jordan McLaughlin. If you combine Huerter and Trey Lyles and maybe Colby Jones and picks(Monte’s decisions) you could swing for Cam Johnson. Then Doug would have to decide who to start and who to come in between Derozan and Johnson. Johnson could come off the bench and play multiple positions. He could sub for Monk, Derozan or Murray. IMO this trade would help the Kings moving forward. A bench including Carter, Ellis and Johnson would be pretty good.
I like that the guards have mostly different skill sets. I think it makes the opposing team have to adjust based on which guards are in the game.
5 guards (Fox, Monk, Ellis, Carter, Huerter. I thibk DDR has played SF for like 7 seasons now) that all get minutes is a bit crazy, but it seems to be working so far.
i don’t disagree that its working right now. I just don’t know how well it works long term.
I just don’t see how it’s a long term solution to our problem.
Nice to see you posting Kevin.
It is a glut of guards, but that surplus allows for a trade with the least amount of disruption to the rotation.
Kevin is the obvious one, his salary is pretty fungible, as is his shooting/size. I still think a mobile big should be priority one, someone to help out Sabonis and Lyles, and could play alongside both of them.
I agree that the ability to trade guards is a strength.
My concern is that this team has shown a temperament that seems questionable. If i was Monte i would be very concerned about disrupting the flow of this team.
I don’t envy Monte
The problem Monte has now is disrupting the chemistry with a trade. For example, Lyle’s name keeps coming up as a trade option, but IMO, he’s a key cog in the rotation and probably Fox’s best friend along with Monk. You can’t trade him without screwing up the team chemistry big time.
I think the best person to trade at this time is Fox. We have the guards to play point and we could get a haul for him. It would be such a seismic move, the chemistry would be so altered it would probably be like the Webber years and the face of the team changing completely.
I don’t think Monte trades Fox mid-season unless Fox wants out.
Lyles is important because he is the backup Center. The logical trade would be to send Huerter out for a bigger SG/SF/PF type of player that can eat some of the DDR minutes to preserve his legs. The challenge is finding that player and having the assets to acquire him.
They ran in to the trap of “We need to improve the roster but we are winning and playing well, things are flowing and vibing positively, let’s not mess with the chemistry.”
With the Lakers brining in DFS, I wonder if either Rui or Vanderbilt are available. That’s 3 SF/PF combo players behind LBJ and AD. The Lakers are rumored to want shooting and a center. Something like Huerter and Len for Rui or Vandy package could make sense for both teams.
If the Lakers want shooting, is Huerter their guy? I mean, Rui is shooting much better from 3 the past 2 seasons. Maybe the Lakers think they can get Huerter back on track to his career numbers?
That would be the idea. I still feel he’s a buy low player right now, while Rui might be a sell high kind of player.
Vanderbilt is likely the more realistic option. Huerter, McLaughlin, and Len for Vanderbilt and Vincent works, but I’d hope Monte would insists on more coming back, especially for eating Vincent’s deal
Rui is on their list of “untouchables” because they should be able to acquire more talented players without giving up anything.
LOL on Bronny James being on that list.
Yeah, I literally laughed out loud at that.
You have some interesting ideas here. The primary thought that jumped into my head upon reading them is kinda weird: any consideration of team chemistry might be asking too much of Monte McNair. I’m not sure why, but to me he seems a bit like a cold, emotionless robot, incapable of grasping fuzzier/more subjective concepts like team chemistry. I guess it’s the way he fired Mike Brown, and what he says and how he says things during press conferences. The guy just gives off a non-human, I-make-decisions-based-solely-on-objectivity vibe. I dunno…maybe those are qualities that make a good GM.
Vivek and Monte pictured together

This explains a lot and know allows me to understand why we don’t see Monte on this website, as he can’t pass the Captcha test.
Just a comment. When Fox was out the chemistry didn’t change in fact it was pretty good. The ball movement with Monk was great. Derozan didn’t dominate until the fourth quarter where he was supposed to do. Ellis was starting and really affected the game. Murray got more involved and started to shoot the 3. Lyles played more especially at the small ball center. There was not chemistry but more of it. IMO the chemistry came more from how Doug handled the team.
Exactly to my point. Fox is replaceable now. Ironically I think he above all can affect team chemistry negatively but isn’t needed for positive chemistry.
Whatever he would bring in a trade would be more than made up for in that trade back. Sure we would miss his speed and some clutch aspects but I think we have guys that would make up for that. I can’t even imagine what we would get in return that would fill some current holes.
The bad part about all this winning is that Monte is going to use it to say that he fixed the problem, then make no real trades aside from maybe a token swap of some G-league guys. I hope I’m wrong, but fear I’m right.
I have not been the biggest fan of Monte.. but to say he hasn’t done his part is not totally honest.
Monte has built a playoff team, where it’s ceiling is, is still under review.
Monte has had challenges, and has not had the best responses.
but.. he has brought in Domas, he’s drafted well, and even DDR who is arguably the biggest FA signing in franchise history.
He’s put a team on the floor to compete at a high level.
Monte has done some good things but he’s also been slow to improve the team. We were sold the idea of continuity as an excuse for inaction. Whether it’s ownership or the FO or both, there’s been a habit of thinking the team is better than it actually is, less in need of help than it actually is. That’s where I share the concern than this win streak will be seen as confirmation that the roster fine and no trades are needed, that the problem was simply Brown not using the team right. But even if this team is better than it looked under Brown and he was using them wrong (which I agree with!), that doesn’t mean it doesn’t still have major issues that should be addressed before the deadline.
100% agree Greg.
This team is critically flawed based on the roster build.
And i also worry that Vivek will buy into the narrative that it was only a coaching issue.
BUT ( and it’s a bit ole butt) i have to also give Monte credit for putting together what appears to be a competitive playoff team for 3 seasons. I don’t look at this team and think ” yeah but it could be worse “, i actually believe that the team itself has been constructed as a winner.
this team has serious flaws that need to be, and haven’t been addressed, but as of right now outside of the Celtics and Thunder i don’t see any NBA team that is “complete”, and i do think the C’s have some concerns still.. just not glaring ones. Im not a Monte apologist but.. i’ve got to be fair where i can.
Good to read your posts Kevin.
Monte’s best FA signing may well be Malik Monk who is blossoming as a creator in a starting role where he is among the fiercest of competitors in the West.
DDR has the pedigree cache, so I take your point.
If you read Reynold’s book on the Kings(just finished it twice) You might see that when Petrie was GM he went out on a limb a few times but each time he got usually silver. He wasn’t afraid to make trades to improve the Kings. He didn’t sit on his hands and sometimes traded early so other teams wouldn’t get what he wanted. I hope there is a little Petrie in Monte.
I’m still irritated/frustrated about the lack of recognition of our team’s accomplishments. I remember Fox’s 60 point game being relegated to a “and Fox had 60 points in the loss” in the recap for the evening it happened, while OTHER players get headlines for much less. Was hoping for a little bit more from the Power Rankings this week (yeah, I know, why did I expect more?)
Domas gets Player of the Week!
Off-topic but I saw something on Reddit where Xfinity is not going to carry NBC Sports CA so Kings games as of Tuesday. any truth to that and what are my options if so. Thanks
Frank, McMillan and Rambis all interim.
So. You can’t really make an assumption.
Rambis was awful. Frank mediocre after his Nets stint
Flip was good not great. Williams and McMillan avg.
Only Atkinson is proving to be a Top coach this year.
None have won a chip though.
Top 5 (most consecutive wins by a new Head Coach):
Lawrence Frank* – 13 (2003-04 with Nets)
Kurt Rambis* – 9 (1998-99 with Lakers)
Kenny Atkinson – 9 (2024-25 with Cavaliers)
Flip Saunders – 8 (2005-06 with Pistons) Monty Williams – 8 (2010-11 with Hornets) Nate McMillan* – 8 (2020-21 with Hawks)
