Anniversary dinner for the missus and me. Take the night off, Davion.
Happy anniversary!!
And agreed…I don’t really want to watch, but will feel compelled if Davion plays : )
Have a good one sir
Happy Anniversary, Rob!

Congratulations, and have a great night.
Happy Anniversary sir!
Congrats and Happy Anniversary Rob, and hope you and the missus have a wonderful evening.

Interested to see how Moody and Kuminga look
Does anyone know if Tenacious D(avion) will be playing? Or is his hamstring holding him out of the game?
I’ll probably just clean the bathrooms or watch Gossip Girl if he’s not playing tonight.
I’m watching. I want to see Neemias
I am so so disappointed.
No Ramsey again ???????
But would be happy to see Queta play some minutes.
Ramsey is garbage
I mean he looks light years better than Woodard if that counts for anything
Who are you guys going to take if we got a choice after one game of impression. (Mitchell or Kuminga)?
I am still going with Kuminga, he got potential to be so good, not afraid to drive into the lane, decent size, and younger.
fxxk Warriors for taking Kuminga away from us.
That’s ok. We took Jimmer away from them.
kumnga was gone at 9, the real question is what will Moody become?
Mitchell is doing nothing out here
The bad thing is he doesn’t really seem to be able to dribble or pass which is unfortunate for a point guard.
He isnt a PG, but a secondary combo
Man, I’m in Houston on travel and the hotel doesn’t have ESPNU.
How’s Neemias Look?
Tall.
All jokes aside, he looks a bit lumbering and reachy to me. Also last up the court on offense in that classic big man kind of way.
Like a second round pick then.
Yup. I’ve actually liked Emanuel Terry a lot more.
Two years away from being two years away !
Given our lack of decent younger bigs PFs, early returns say I wouldn’t mind Terry get a 2W contract.
Woodard is slowly playing his way into a filler in a trade, or getting released.
Back to Stockton for him. Ramsey can start looking overseas.
Haven’t been impressed. He stinks to be honest. Just, flat-out can’t shoot.
So yeah, that was a shitty performance by the Kings. Nothing else to say.
Keeping the 36 years of Sacramento basketball tradition alive.
My only excuse for Davion is that its a back to back, dude looks a bit out of shape. I hope he was still hampered a bit by injury.
Davion should be a good NBA player but seems slim chance at stardom ! Woodard and Ramsey with a lot of development could play in China !
If anything, these two games have showed that the average armchair fan is probably less equipped to evaluate players than coaches who work with them on a daily basis. Man, seeing Robert Woodard out there is rough. Has everything you want in a modern basketball player: 6-7, built like an ox and quite a fluent athlete. Oh yeah, except for any technical basketball skill. His shot looks quite bad, I saw him make some passes these games with a lower chance of success than me being called up to play an NBA game and, although his handle looks pretty good, he got stripped a number of times while over-dribbling.
There might be an NBA player in there somewhere, with his physical tools and rebounding prowess, but this kid needs to spend a lot of time in the G-League working on fundamentals.
Kuminga and Bad Moody are what I thought they were. The Dubs f’ed up their draft if their intention was to use the #7 and #14 to go Big Game Hunting for a Simmons, Siakium, Dame or Beal. This makes me somewhat giddy because they are targeting some of the same guys as us. No GM is going to watch either of these guys in SL and say “I need them on my team”.
Kuminga puts the ball on his forehead and catapults it at the basket. His shot is broke. He does have size and he’s fluid but he’s worse funadamentally than Benny McLemore. He’s going to be a 35-40% FG shooter. He does have potential as a big forward someday but that day is far away.
Kuminga is not as bad as Woodward but they are close cousins fundamentally. I said way back when we got our first look at Woodward, he cannot play, he’s hot garbage, was told I was drawing a premature conclusion. The appeal of Woodward pre-draft was as a combo forward high energy dirty work player. But he’s NONE of that. He’s an undersized PF who wants to be a face up perimeter SF? Uh…
You never feel his presence on the boards or on defense. The dunks he gets are in the same category as Marvin’s, a function of being in the right place at the right time, not skill-based. This is in contrast to Emmanuel Terry who makes his presence known in the paint and glass.
We should waive Woodward to open a spot for Terry. Terry reminds me of Isaiah Jackson! Maybe we got our Unicorn , after all 🙂
Bad Moody has NO shot creation, NO defensive intensity, does not play that hard, and is more of a SG than SF. Hes okay, if you want a boring forgetable player. Who cares that he has long arms when he is a below the rim player? He stands in the corner and launches 3s. That is not the impact player we needed. We got the impact player we needed.
It was not Davion’s night but there was no room in the lane for him to drive. The opponent was packing the paint and we did not have the spacing to let him get his game going to the basket.
The Warriors wouldve been better picking Davion and Sengun (#7 and #14) then move them with Wiseman and picks for Simmons, once the 76er GM comes to Earth in his demands. Simmons would fill Draymond role and Draymond would then be a trade chip to reload over the duration of Curry’s new deal. Instead the market for Kuminga and Moody is going to be as hot as the market for Bagley, i.e. Antartica-like.
On Queta, he leaned down since his time at Utah State and this enables him to defend away from the basket. I am somewhat impressed with his mobility, effort and willingness to try to get after it on the perimeter. I think there is a player there. He’s not a slug that just wants to grind it out under the basket. So just showing some ability to play away from the basket is more than I have seen from Woodward.
Agree with all your thoughts! You know the Dubs did not want these draft picks since very little if any help coming ! Always remember Jerry Reynolds saying in January after watching Ramsey and Woodard in G League (. Not NBA players ) ! Mitchell is very disappointing with playmaking ability but does seem a legit NBA player ! Tough to be excited about the season and Kyle and Katie talk way too much and sucks the joy out of the game ! My opinion !
Crossing my fingers that it won’t be Kayte taking Doug’s seat. If there’s somebody whose commentary I enjoy less than Doug’s, it would be Kayte.
Found this on Reddit. Ben Simmons open to “the California teams.”
