Missed all you guys these last few months but with no real Kings news I haven’t been on the site. Looking forward to tonight’s draft. Hoping for Vassell or Hampton.
There are now 3 players drafted with the #1 pick named Anthony making it the most popular first name for a #1 pick. There have been two players drafted at #1 named Bob, Andrew or Joe.
LaMelo at 3? Makes no sense with playmakers already there in Charlotte. Was hoping he would go to Chicago.
Patrick Williams at #4 – good lord he shot up the draft boards.

I guess Vassell or Haliburton would work, I’m thoroughly unexcited about everyone else. Well, except Poku but that is more of the bad sort of excited.

God I hope not. There’s skinny you can fix and there are some, very few, guys who are just never going to add any bulk whatsoever no matter what they do and I strongly suspect Poku is in the latter category. Adding muscle when you are that slight is not hard unless you’re just genetically predisposed to not be able to do so.
His skill set probably keeps him from being the next Shawn Bradley but I am not sure he could ever be more than a situational player in the NBA

Hate to be a hater. But Ben McLemore and Thomas Robinson were “fallers” in the draft as well. But Tyrese is different though as he actually knows how to play basketball.

They were also high-pick mistakes. At 12 in a meh draft, I don’t mind catching the knife and seeing how it pans out.

Another note is the collective praise of this pick is good for Kings perception in the media. That isnt assurance in Haliburton actually ending up good, but it is a bonus for the new Monte front office. Its good cache in the perception of this franchise.

I really like that the Kings have taken two players who can facilitate offense and play defense. It’s been pretty clear that we’ve need play makers and Haliburton is great at that while Tillman is a pretty good passer for a center.
Nwora would be a good pick. Fills a need.

Xavier Tillman is a Memphis Grizzly. We traded for the 40th and selected Woodard (the third, to go along with Bagley) a solid 3 and D option who shot 43% from beyond the arc.
Also got a future second rounder. Will be the lesser of Pistons/Bulls picks in 2022

Don’t know about y’all, but Haliburton, Woodard and Ramsey is a pretty tidy haul imo. Haliburton is the perfect complement to Fox long-term, both he and Woodard will supply some much needed defense and from what I read are intelligent, high character guys. Will be great to have a team with long, versatile defenders who can run the floor with Fox and knockdown the threes off his kick-outs to provide spacing. If Bagley can stay healthy, all of a sudden the Kings have a solid young core once again.
