As each day passes, we are getting closer to hearing what the NBA’s next steps will be to complete the 2019-20 regular season and playoffs.

If or when the on-court games get done, it will be an interesting offseason for the Sacramento Kings. The team has said it will match any offer for restricted free agent guard Bogdan Bogdanovic, while another key piece of the Kings future will also be up for an extension.

NBC Bay Area’s James Ham’s latest 20 questions piece looks into if Sacramento should give third-year guard De’Aaron Fox a max extension once the offseason begins.

Here is what Ham had to say:

That is not bad company. Fox is only one of nine NBA players to average at least 20.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds this year; the other eight were named to the 2020 All-Star game.

Fox missed 17 games this year with an ankle injury early in the season which hampered his performance when he initially returned. Fox averaged just 15.6 points per game and 6.4 assists when he came back in late December as the Kings went on a seven-game slide.

Fox’s numbers went way up as he got back into game shape when he put up 22.8 points and 7.6 assists through the month of January.

Vlade Divac should get the deal done as soon as the season finishes. Fox will be an All-Star sooner than later, and with the 22-year-old still just scratching the surface, he will be the center piece of the team for years to come.

Bogdanovic has proven himself to be one of the better second-tier wings in the NBA. The 27-year-old made his mark while playing five seasons in Europe, prior to making the leap to the NBA. Bogdanovic’s overseas efforts were rewarded by being named to the Euro-League’s All-Decade team. (Kings.com)

The Kings have had their fair share of uniform designs over the years. One of the sets that isn’t looked upon too fondly by ESPN is team’s 2005-06 gold alternates, which was ranked as the worst jersey in NBA history.

Even though the Kings still have 18 games left on their schedule, the Sacramento Bee is grading each member of the team’s performance so far this season.
