Vegas odds think De’Aaron Fox has a shot at winning Rookie of the Year

Vegas puts Fox at the same odds as Jayson Tatum

Sacramento Kings rookie De’Aaron Fox is likely to make an immediate impact this season, at least according to Las Vegas bookmakers. The William Hill Nevada sportsbook has Fox at 8-1 odds to win Rookie of the Year, according to ESPN. That puts Fox tied with Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics for the 5th best odds at winning.

Lonzo Ball is favored at 9-5 odds, and Ben Simmons is at 5-2. Both should play a large role for their teams, which surely has an impact. Fox should play solid minutes, but will be behind George Hill for the Kings unless Fox can earn a starting role.

Dennis Smith Jr. and Markelle Fultz have the 3rd and 4th best odds, respectively.

Tyreke Evans won Rookie of the Year for the Kings in 2010 after his famed 20-5-5 season. Thanks to that experience, Kings fans probably arent going to get too caught up in the race for ROY. Nonetheless, it’s still cool seeing Fox getting recognition as someone who should have a productive season.
