After having three players test positive for the coronavirus last week, the Sacramento Kings received some more bad news on Sunday. According to a report by Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Kings are shutting down their practice facility due to a positive test within the team’s traveling party:

As Amick points out, the team is planning leaving for Orlando on Wednesday, July 8. That means Sacramento’s players will lose out on a couple of days of workouts before making the trip to Florida.

The Kings are the seventh NBA franchise to shutdown their practice facility since teams were allowed to resume workouts. The others include the Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns.

Even with strict guidelines in place, it’s tough to see how the NBA will pull this off without encountering some issues. The safety of players and staff is the most important thing, so if the positive tests begin to soar — like they are around most of the country — it’s safe to assume the league won’t hesitate to shut things down again.

We are just 17 days away from Sacramento’s first scheduled scrimmage against the Heat, and 26 days from their first seeding game against the San Antonio Spurs, so hopefully the players and staff members can stay healthy until then, and obviously from then on out.
