Confirming what had been reported earlier in the week, the Sacramento Kings and Harrison Barnes have reportedly agreed to a four year, $85 million extension.
Some Kings news…
Source tells @TheAthletic that Sacramento will finalize a four-year, $85 million deal with Harrison Barnes today. The deal declines annually, accounting for just 14% of the cap in the fourth year.— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) June 30, 2019
We had previously speculated that Kings may have the deal escalate in order to maximize current cap space, but the Kings went to opposite route. A decreasing contract has become common for the Kings, and will help them maintain future flexibility.
