Cory Joseph signs a three-year, $37 million contract with Kings

The depth for the Kings gets better.

Most of you were probably asleep for this one, but the Kings and point guard Cory Joseph agreed on a three-year, $37 million deal, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Joseph, 27, played all 82 games with the Indiana Pacers and averaged 6.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 25.2 minutes a game. He shot 41.2 percent overall and 32.2 percent from three.

The Kings definitely had to overpay on this deal, but the third year is also a partial guarantee, per Sam Amick.

The Kings signed Dewayne Dedmon, Trevor Ariza and now Joseph to deals with the final year being a partial guarantee.

Sacramento now has a very solid core with plenty of depth and versatility. They definitely got better after these signings.

Joseph also brings lockdown defense to the Kings and the ability to guard the 1 and 2 spots on the floor. I’ll write in-depth piece on Joseph coming soon.

Per James Ham, the Kings are still on the market for a possible fifth big so stay tuned for that.
