Terence Davis has reportedly been traded to Sacramento

The Kings are sending out another second-round pick.

The Kings continue to stockpile players in their backcourt, adding Terence Davis from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for a second-round pick, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Davis has averaged 7.3 points per game while shooting 37.9 percent from 3-point range over the last two years with the Raptors. He is 23 years old and will be a restricted free agent this summer, but he appeared to be a part of Toronto’s future plans, but he fell behind in the Raptors rotation after domestic assault accusations surfaced against him during the offseason. Those charges have since been dismissed.

This is another interesting flier for the Kings to take considering the promise Davis showed last season. The roster is currently at 17 players, so Sacramento either has more moves that are yet to be reported (the deadline has technically passed) or they will have to waive two players to get to the maximum roster size. Jabari Parker seems like an obvious candidate, and potentially Hassan Whiteside as well so that the veteran can join a playoff team for the stretch run.

The trade is probably more interesting from Toronto’s perspective, as the Raptors appear to be clearing roster spots for an imbalanced Kyle Lowry trade. Kudos to the Kings for acquiring a young player to help grease the wheels.
