The Sacramento Kings haven’t been able to catch a break in Orlando. After their star point guard De’Aaron Fox suffered an ankle injury at practice on Wednesday, their second-year forward and former No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III suffered a right foot injury at practice on Sunday, the team announced on Monday.
Bagley has appeared in just 13 games for the Kings this season due to injuries. On opening night, he suffered a thumb fracture that kept him sidelined for almost two months. Then, in December, he suffered a left foot injury that he reaggravated after just four games. He hasn’t appeared in a game for the Kings since January.
The hope was that the six months he’s had to recover would be enough for him to have a healthy stint in Orlando, but apparently he and the Kings are just snake-bitten.
After practice on Monday, Luke Walton said Bagley hurt his foot by landing on somebody’s foot on his way down from grabbing an offensive rebound. Walton said the team has no further update at this time.
Bagley has averaged 14.2 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the field, and 7.5 rebounds per game while averaging 25.7 minutes per game.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
