The last time Harrison Barnes played in an elimination basketball game, he scored 10 points on 3-10 shooting from the field. On Friday, Barnes was given a chance to redeem himself in the NBA’s first-ever players only 2K tournament, but unfortunately, the Sacramento Kings forward had just much luck in the 2K tournament as he did in the 2016 NBA Finals.
In the first round of the 2K tournament, Barnes got blown out by Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young 101-59. Young played with the Milwaukee Bucks and Barnes played with the Toronto Raptors. One could argue Young used a “cheating’ team because of how dominant Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have been this season, but it was clear that Barnes just wasn’t as skilled as Young.
As a matter of fact, Barnes wasn’t skilled at all, and before halftime, Young had already pulled away.

Luckily for Barnes, everyone understood that Barnes probably doesn’t play the game often, and appreciated the fact that he participated and was a good sport about it.
Just kidding, they let him have it the same way they did on Wednesday, and this time, it wasn’t just NBA fans — it was NBA players too.

Considering the NBA season likely won’t be back for at least another two months, Barnes will have plenty of time to practice his 2K skills going forward, but he won’t continue in the tournament, as it was single-elimination. That’s probably not the worst thing, though, because the tournament has been pretty boring so far.
Young will go on to play DeAndre Ayton, who beat Zach LaVine 57-41 on Friday.
