If talks with Andre Iguodala don’t go anywhere, the Kings need to have other options ready. One such option could be veteran wing P.J. Tucker.
Sacramento Kings have scheduled a face-to-face meeting with PJ Tucker over the weekend, league sources tell ESPN.

Tucker has spent his entire time in the NBA in Phoenix and Toronto and has become a respected 3-and-D player. While Tucker doesn’t have the same cachet that guys like Iguodala, Gay or Gallinari have, he’d be a signing more in the vein of when the Kings brought in Garrett Temple last season. Tucker does a little bit of everything and can play multiple positions, even some small-ball four.
Tucker will have plenty of suitors, with Darren Wolfson reporting earlier that in addition to the Kings, he will receive interest from Minnesota, Toronto, Denver, Philadelphia and the L.A. Clippers. The market for Small Forwards this year is incredibly thin, and it just so happens to be Sacramento’s position of greatest need right now. Perhaps a signing like Tucker on a short contract can fill the gap while the Kings wait for a long term solution later.
