Carter has risen up draft boards but has generally still been projected much lower than where the Kings are picking. Nonetheless, there are several reasons the Kings could be bringing him in. This could be the Kings simply doing their due diligence and learning as much about the available prospects as possible. Or the Kings may be doing research in case they decide to trade down in the draft. It could also be a veiled attempt to gather additional intel on Marvin Bagley III.
I’m happy to see the Kings working out another prospect. Recent reports have indicated the Kings are zeroed in on Bagley, Luka Doncic, or Michael Porter Jr. Given their lottery position, the Kings should be bringing in as many top prospects as possible. Although they observed both at the combine, I’d really like to see the Kings work out Jaren Jackson Jr and Mo Bamba as well.
We’re one week away from the draft. Buckle up.
