The NBA season is still relatively young, but the playoff picture is starting to form. As always, it appears there will be a differently looking field this year than last.

When fans around the country were asked which Western Conference team that missed the playoffs last year is most likely to reach the postseason in 2021, there was a clear answer, according to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey. Alas, it wasn’t the Kings, though Sacramento did earn five percent of the vote. 60 percent of fans picked the Phoenix Suns, followed by 23 percent that picked the Golden State Warriors and five percent each for the Kings and San Antonio Spurs.

On the other side of things, fans are similarly confident in the 2020 playoff team that will fall short this season. 65 percent of fans think the Oklahoma City Thunder will miss the 2021 postseason, followed by 22 percent that picked the Houston Rockets and 13 percent for the Dallas Mavericks.

In the Eastern Conference, fans predict that the Atlanta Hawks are the most likely choice to make the playoffs after missing last years. Fans believe the Hawks have the best chance of replacing the Orlando Magic.

It’s probably more likely than not that at least two non-playoff teams will join the playoff picture this year, especially with the play-in tournament. What chance would you give the Kings to crack the top 10?
