The Sacramento Kings got a much needed 140-125 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday, their first victory in three ties in the Orlando, FL bubble. The Kings came alive on the offensive end, with Bogdan Bogdanovic leading the charge, dropping a career-high 35 points. De’Aaron Fox was also impressive in the win, finishing with 30 points and 10 assists while Harrison Barnes rounded out the attack with 22 points of his own.
Sacramento kept its faint playoff hopes alive with the win and now sit one game behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the ninth seed in the Western Conference with only five games to go before the NBA playoffs begin.
This is a must-win if the Kings want to stay in contention. The Brooklyn Nets are 2-2 since the restart, but are playing without their high-end talent. The Nets gave up 149 points to the Boston Celtics in their latest outing, including 20 3-point baskets. If Sacramento can carry over its hot shooting from the win over the Pelicans, it should be able to take advantage of Brooklyn’s defensive woes.
