De’Aaron Fox sets new career-high in points as Kings blow out Warriors

De’Aaron Fox was feeling it on Thursday.

Even after a busy trade deadline, the Sacramento Kings came prepared to play on Thursday and handily beat the Golden State Warriors 141-119 behind a career-high night from their star point guard De’Aaron Fox.

In 35:40 against the Warriors, Fox scored a career-high 44 points — 25 of which came in the first half — on an efficient 16-22 shooting from the field. Fox’s previous career-high was 43 points and he set it against the New Orleans Pelicans on Jan. 7. The difference between this Fox’s last career-high performance and the one on Thursday night? The Kings got the win on Thursday.

Fox wasn’t the only one on the Kings that had it going, though. In fact. four of Sacramento’s players finished the night in double figures and two of them — Tyrese Haliburton and Richaun Holmes — scored more than 20 points. Holmes tallied 25 points in addition to to the 11 rebounds he grabbed and Haliburton scored 21 points.

The Kings were aggressive in acquiring talent leading up to Thursday’s trade deadline and it doesn’t seem like they’re going to buyout players left and right like many thought that they would. Why? Because after a win over the Warriors on Thursday, the Kings are only three games back of a play-in spot. They may fall short of their expectations, but you can’t say they’re not trying.

The Kings’ next game will be against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 27.
