For the first time since March of 2020, regular-season basketball is back at the Golden 1 Center in front of what will hopefully be a full arena.
The Kings started their season off the right way, defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 124-21 on the road. It was nice that the Kings got the victory, but the team nearly coughed up an 18 point fourth-quarter lead and allowed Damian Lillard a three-point attempt to tie the game, which he thankfully missed.
The Utah Jazz is coming off a decisive season-opening win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Jazz likely enters this season with a vengeance after a disappointing loss in the second round of last year's playoffs against the Los Angeles Clippers, after having a 2-0 lead in the series.
Last season, the Kings got absolutely dominated in their three matchups against the Jazz, losing by 22, 16, and a whopping 49 points. The Jazz were able to score at will in all of these matchups and were constantly raining threes down on the Kings.
Three-point shooting from guys like Donovon Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles Jordan Clarkson, and others has continued to be a major part of the Jazz gameplan as evidenced by their 47 attempts in the victory over the summer.
Hopefully playing in front of the crowd Golden 1 Center gives the Kings a major boost, and they can steal a win over a really good Jazz team.
