In one of the late Maloofs years John Rinehart and Matina came up with a terrible and overly aggressive ticket pricing plan for the lower section. They set the prices way way too high. First, this decimated the already weak season ticket base for the most important seats. This also made them reliant on walk up sales and packs, which leads to swaths of unused seats for many nights. You can mitigate with sales and comp seats, but that pisses off your remaining season ticket holders. It was a fiscal and PR mess leading to the broadcast zooming in any trying to avoid wide shots some nights against bad eastern teams. It’s why Rinehart didn’t keep his role for a time. But Matina GOT all the way back and reinstalled Rinehart … and it looks like they’ve done it again. This is why most NBA teams don’t rehire the same people that helped fiscally derailed the same franchise just a few years ago
On the business side, this is like Pete D mismanaging the Kings to the point that the NBA compelled the team to install Sam Presti (who was working for the NBA). Matina eventually pushing out Presti and later reinstalling Pete D, who screwed up again.

I started to buy 2 lower bowl seats and when I was checking out Ticketmaster tacked on $52 extra for a “service charge” – no dice – as much as my wife and I wanted to attend it was a principle decision. Plus, Ticketmaster can basically rot in hell.

End of the 3rd quarter, ball is loose near the rim after a Utah miss, and Bagley literally swipes a hand while his butt is backing away. Next possession I think was the one where he turned it over on the pass. Dude, are you SO GOOD that you don’t need both hands to secure a loose ball against Rudy Gobert?! Wow, such awesome player!!

Only game 2 and already putting hands on each other? Yikes. They’ll obviously still make the playoffs but they put together such a gross roster from a fit standpoint. Too many bigs, not enough perimeter shooting, and the average age is so old that it’s a guarantee they’ll have guys missing time with injuries throughout the year. Not sure they’re more than the 4th or 5th seed in the West at this point

He is quickly going to become a net negative if he continues to clank and refuses to get his teammates involved.
Fox is good, can be great at times but never elite.
He’s capped as a fringe all-star level talent because he’s just not a natural shooter. Some nights the jumper will look good and others it’s a mess like tonight. The FT % is the real issue for him since his game is predicated on getting to the rim/drawing fouls. He really needs to get that FT % close to or over 80%. Low 70% range is pitiful for a PG
