The Sacramento Kings will have some fans in the building for the stretch drive of the season. The team announced they will allow a limited number of fans into the Golden 1 Center beginning on April 20 when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“We are thrilled to safely welcome fans back to the arena, starting with frontline workers who have sacrificed tremendously throughout this pandemic,” Chief Operating Officer Matina Kolokotronis said in a release. “We have worked closely with state and county public health officials and the NBA to implement comprehensive safety protocols and measures to enable fans to return to Golden 1 Center.
The organization will honor frontline workers by allowing them to be the first to attend a game all seasons. The Kings will work with local nonprofits and corporate partners to select 1,600 frontline workers to attend the game against the Timberwolves.
As coronavirus cases continue to fall while the number of vaccinated people increases in California, the plan is to gradually increased the number of fans allowed in attendance over the final seven home games. Here is how you could try and get tickets, according to Sacramento’s news release.
The Kings will follow the recommendations of the league and local health officials to safely allow fans back in the building.
The concessions and kiosks at Golden 1 Center will be cashless while individually packed food and beverages will be available for purchasing through mobile orders.
It will be more than a year since fans were allowed to cheer on Sacramento in person. The last time local fans saw a game was when the Kings lost 118-113 to the Toronto Raptors on March 8, 2020.
