The Sacramento Kings ended their season long six game road trip with a 3-3 record as they finished it off with an 114-103 win against the New Orleans Pelicans, their second of the season in the Big Easy.

With no DeMarcus Cousins for the Pelicans and no Skal Labissiere and Willie Cauley-Stein for the Kings, one big man had to step up and take the throne. Move over Anthony Davis, tonight belongs to Kosta Koufos.

Koufos started tonight’s game and finished it strong. He had 17 points to go along nicely with a career-high of 17 rebounds.

Best Performers

Kosta Koufos: As already mentioned, Koufos was everything you could’ve wanted with a Kings team dealing with injuries in the front court. He played 37 minutes and also added two steals and two assists. He was 7/12 from the field, 34 from the charity stripe. Anthony Davis who?

Zach Randolph: THE PAINT IS FOR THE BIG BOYS. Zach Randolph took over New Orleans just like earlier this season and and led the Kings in scoring. Albeit he shot 11/23, Randolph had 26 points including one free throw and three three’s. He also added 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal. Way to go, Z-Bo.

De’Aaron Fox: The rookie continues to impress and make us drool. De’Aaron Fox finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 27 minutes. He had nine points in the first quarter alone. He shot 6/14 and 2/2 from the free throw line. Fox only converted one three following his magnificent performance against the San Antonio Spurs, but one is better than none. #ShouldBeARisingStar

Garrett Temple: Coming off the bench again, Garrett Temple brought in a much needed spark at times. He finished with 15 to lead the Kings in scoring off the bench in 31 minutes on 5/12 shooting. He added six assists, two rebounds and one steal.

George Hill: George Hill was also a big part of the bench production, adding 14 points on 5/8 shooting and 3/3 from the free throw stripe. He played 27 minutes and didn’t have any other major stat.

Notable Stats

Buddy Hield added eight points off the bench in 21 minutes against his former team.

Justin Jackson, who has been playing better as of late, ended with five points, two assists and three rebounds.

Vince Carter added five rebounds.

Sacramento out-rebounded New Orleans 49-36. However, Kings were out-assisted 26-22, out-blocked 8-1 but were even on steals with each team nagging seven.

Ian Clark came off the bench and was a huge threat to the Kings. He scored 20 on 9/10 shooting in 29 minutes.

Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday each scored over 20 points but their combined 36 shots couldn’t lead to a win.

Quick Takeaways

Kings didn’t allow a second-chance point to the Pelicans. The Kings had over 26 of their own.

Georgios Papagiannis didn’t play terrible. He added four assists.

The Kings shot well from three with 39% being the mark. They shot 47% overall. They were 12/14 from the free throw line overall as well.

Sacramento blew a double-digit lead in the late third/early fourth, but were able to close the deal with a double-digit win.
