There was a scary moment early on in Sunday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs in which Kings coach Dave Joerger fell to one knee after a bout of light headedness and was soon after escorted to the locker room. Coach Joerger did not return to the game and lead assistant Elston Turner took over for the rest of the game.

While the initial diagnosis wasn’t deemed too serious and Joerger only didn’t return as a precaution, the team still sent Coach Joerger back to Sacramento in order to run a bevy of tests with the Kings doctors to make sure everything is alright. Fortunately, those tests seem to have gone well and Coach Joerger has been given a clean bill of health. However, he will not join the team in New Orleans today in order to rest up and will rejoin the team at some point during the Kings upcoming home stand, which begins Friday against Golden State.
This isn’t the first time a Kings head coach has had a scare on the sideline. Jerry Reynolds famously fainted on the sideline back in 1988. Jerry of course turned out to be fine, and Coach Joerger will be too.
