DeMarcus Cousins has a torn ACL according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. It’s a devastating injury under any circumstances, but following a torn Achilles tendon and then a hamstring tear, it’s a particularly brutal blow for the former Sacramento Kings big man.

Cousins has been cursed with terrible injury luck since being traded away from Sacramento. He suffered a ruptured Achilles right before hitting free agency where he likely would have received a max contract. He signed a one year deal with the Golden State Warriors to rehab and try to chase a ring, but suffered a torn quad and only appeared in 30 games. He fought back that from injury to play in the NBA Finals, but was severely limited. This summer Cousins had signed with the Los Angeles Lakers on another one-year contract in another bid to rebuild his value.
Injuries are simply the worst. The NBA is more interesting with Cousins in it.
Get well soon, Boogie.
