Kings rookie guard De’Aaron Fox has been diagnosed with a partial tear of his right quadriceps, which is a more serious injury than was originally reported.

Fox was originally diagnosed with a quad contusion against the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 14th. He missed the Toronto game, only played 11 minutes against the Sixers, and was also absent for the entire contest against Brooklyn on Wednesday night. The Kings play a total of six games in the next fourteen days.

George Hill and Frank Mason III will be expected to take on the main ball-handling duties while he’s recovering, while Garrett Temple will most likely be the emergency option as the third-string point guard.
