Corliss Williamson leaves Sacramento to join Orlando’s coaching staff

By | 0 Comments | Mar 6, 2019

The Orlando Magic announced their coaching staff under new head coach Frank Vogel today, and Corliss Williamson was among the new additions. Williamson has served as a Kings assistant for the past three seasons, and was retained along with Nancy Lieberman when George Karl and the rest of staff were let go.

Of course, that didn't mean Williamson wasn't allowed to pursue other opportunities, and there were reports last week that Williamson was in Orlando interviewing for a job on Vogel's staff. It appears he has accepted that offer, and we will miss him in Sacramento.

It's unknown as of yet whether Kings head coach David Joerger will opt to replace Williamson on the staff before the season begins or opt to go with who he already has.

Best of luck to the Big Nasty in his new endeavor, and I'm sure there are even bigger and better things in Corliss' future as he continues to build up an impressive coaching resumé.
