Did I see Mavs fans wearing Laker Luka jersey’s tonight? If so, that’s some next level disgust from a fanbase. I’ve never seen a franchise completely destroy all good will so quickly.

I’ve heard rumors about the Mavs owners seemingly doing things so that they can have an excuse to relocate the team to Vegas or something. Not sure if it’s all coincidental, but making the GM make transactions that could kill the fanbase and raising ticket prices almost makes it appear like they’re trying to get their fans to stop coming to games so they can move.

Hey….. I feel like we’ve seen this playbook before somewhere?

I can see from one side where vegas makes sense for pro teams, but do the fans even want bball in vegas? They were happy with the hockey team, so so at first with the raiders, don’t really want the A’s, and now a potential basketball team. The Mavs being taken from Dallas feels gross. I hope that’s not their end game with all the fuckery

Those Vegas teams print money for owners thanks to all the casinos and businesses buying up the tickets and comping them to apathetic gamblers from around the world. There is no real local fanbase. It’s a disgusting, but that’s what Vegas is.

Tanking and destroying the careers of a multitude of players so they could move? It took the Raiders 30 years to get that done.

Gotta feel bad for mavs fans after going to the finals last season. Hoping kyrie is ok.

Good team win tonight though! Really liked the rotations as well most of the time. If kyrie misses any time, they should slip a bit in the standings.

Did that injury though not nearly to the extent he did. He’ll be down for a bit. God didn’t mean for knees to bend that way. Hope he heals quick.

Way to take care of business. Stepped on their necks in the third. None of this let em hang around crap.

Liked the play for Keegan to open the game.

That Monk pass to Lyles was “No, what are you doi… OMG, how’d that get thru?”

Keep streaking!

Great win tonight. We needed this one, the next 5 games are huge for this season. Nugs is probably an L, Spurs need to be a W, Clips is an important one and it’s going to be tough, Knicks on a B2B is probably an L and then that Warriors game is another really important one against a hot team.

I think that’s the best case scenario but the warriors killed us last game so I think it’s going to be a 2-3 five game set.

Christie may be a legit coach… this team is assembled to have very little ball movement or assists. Yet they resemble a pretty good team lately.

Let’s finish the season, but if it ends well, I’d like the Kings to take the interim label and give him a one year contract. None of this multi-year crap. Continues to burn this team.

The assists and lack of turnovers is great to see. Good to get a win.

The Mavericks man… there’s the pit of sadness and then whatever you call the Mavs. They’re missing what, 7 of their best 9 players after tonight? Absolutely wild stuff. Curious to see how they play against the Nuggets on Wednesday. That’s a measuring stick game. Win that, and we’re in business.

Favorite stats of the night:
1- all 5 starters, double figures, No Dallas starters in double figures (last time this happened for Sac was exactly 10 years ago 3/3/2015 – thank you X for info
2- all 5 starters 20 or > in +/-
3- Offense: 34 assists on 47 made FG.
4- Malik Monk 8 assists, 0 TO
5- FG % 52.2%, 3FG% 47.1%, FT: 100% (12/12)

Can you pick one ?

Good win against a down and out team. Win majority of these expected wins and suprise some of the expected losses equals playoff chances. But damn, Dallas is on a big tailspin and might just drop out of the 10th spot entirely. I read an article yesterday bashing their training staff on how they are handling the injuries i.e. letting AD and PJ return too early and causing more damage than the original injuries. That fanbase is hurting big time.

I’m sure they are but they had the brilliance of Luka for 6 years and an NBA finals appearance last season. I’d take that.

Lavine top scorer with an efficient 22 points. Kings win by 24. I bet it’s pretty rare to win a game by more than the total of your top scorer.

Happy with the result.

Curious to see how the Kings come out of the next round of games, given the defense still looks atrocious at times and the offense is not much more than a bunch of pick & rolls and isos. I fear it won’t end well, but I’ve been wrong before.

For now: dance!

I tend to agree with this assessment. Other than the Rockets, the other team’s they’ve beaten in this stretch are all in disaster territory.

If you want to have fun with some numbers, the noted chucker Lavine had games over the last week where he hit 8/9 and 4/5 on 3’s — for context, a player shooting 31% on 3PFG would need to hoist 39 shots to hit 12 3’s, Lavine needed 14. But no, we probably shouldn’t expect him to shoot 86% on 3’s for rest of the year.

There were (at least) 2 other players that also had hot stretches. Keegan went on one and DDR had one. I’m ok having multiple hot hands to feed as long as it’s going to one of them.

Team rankings in the 12 games since Fox’s departure:

Net Rating: 9th
Offensive Rating: 8th
Defensive Rating: 14th

Very promising, yet still very small sample size. It does feel like the Fox trade has balanced the roster some, but there’s still work to do.

Feels like they still need a solid distributing and shooting (“traditional”) PG, who isn’t a liability on defense. A Derrick White would be perfect for this roster, IMO.

Maybe with a year under his belt and more recovery time, that could be Devin Carter. That is sort of the player archetype he was supposed to be but we’ll see. As soon as he needed shoulder surgery this season felt like a wash for him.

The team *appears* to have much better spacing with Valanciunas on the court. Want to unlock your scorers? Utilize a rim stopper. From his own mouth:

“I don’t want to be stretching out. I want to be a down-low player,” Valančiūnas told Yahoo Sports. “My main game is going to be in the paint, always. Set screens, roll hard. Do damage inside on the low post. But when they’re plugging the paint, when they’re rotating, when they’re leaving you alone, being able to knock down a 3-point shot, this is what I’m still working on.”

I feel like this is exactly what I saw last night.

Time for a trade, perhaps?

JV is a massive human being and has a corresponding center-like career average of 25 MPG.
Sabonis is a tall, strong, and tough human being, but not massive and not a rim-protector. He averages a very PF-like 35 MPG his past 6 years and is comfortable both under the basket and on the perimeter.

Between JV and Sabonis, they should be able to handle the center minutes with Domas filling out some extra minutes at PF when they’re both on the court. Keegan can flex between 3 and 4 when only one center is in.

So yeah, a trade. Not a trade of the big guys though. I like LaVine. He can score at the rim, but doesn’t seem to have the out of control tunnel vision when he does it like both Fox and Monk tend to do. DDR for a PG?
