Gotta win this one tonight
They all feel like that now.
My favorite part about JV is his unbelievable, almost irrational confidence. He is by no means the most agile, coordinated, or skilled guy you have ever seen. At the same time, he is surrounded by some of the game’s best scorers and shooters.
And yet he sees no problem taking the ball up the court, running things out of the high post. That open 15 footer? He’ll take that. A wide open three? Sure! Hell, maybe he’ll take a possession to have everyone clear out while he plays bully ball in the post. The guy doesn’t doubt his belonging on the floor in the slightest, and I think it helps him achieve more than he would if he was the same player with a more passive mentality.
JV has missed some close shots. But the confidence is there, and he needs to keep shooting them.
He’s taking the kind of shots Domas should be taking more often.
Greg went to all the trouble to arrange a game thread and so few comments so far!
Maybe the early west coast start time?
Mavs are snake bit
Now Monk going to the locker room
Kyrie hyperextended his left knee. Doesn’t look good.
And now Monk is hobbling
Will we see Markelle?
I hope Keegan Murray doesn’t disappoint Kayte. That woman loves him
Can’t watch the game, what’s the status on Monk?
Still in the locker room. I haven’t heard an update (kids are running around and being loud).
He’s back in the court now
Good to know!
Mavs fan sitting next to me is sipping on a tall boy and leans over after AV goes down low and says in a low voice “My buddy. Ext to me is a fanatic Mav’s fan, over the top really. I like watching good basketball. AV is really King Kong isn’t he? That guy is going to help your team a lot, we have no one to match up against him. He is a great pickup when a lot of teams need what he brings to the game.”
Monk back on floor.
Monk back
Keegan playing very aggressive on offense and just drew his second charging foul. He looks very confident.
Quick summary at the half. Kings shooting the ball well.
Very few turnovers by Kings maybe less than or equal to 3.
Kyrie and AV met knee to knee across from where I am sitting. It looked bad and I hope he is ok. Too good of a player to be out, vagaries of a haphazard injury.
Keegan playing really well on both ends of court.
Fellow and his buddy next to him talking non stop crap to each other. The younger one just said something about the others Mom being hot and all his friends know it. A woman I sitting in front of them said “You two teenagers need to take cold showers tonight”.
Houston we have no problem with cold showers.
Cold plunge….
One last note, Domas is here at the game. I am sure you see that on TV.
I watched him pre game and getting up and down out of those team chairs and he did not have a noticeable limp or use his hands to get out of a sitting position. Not favoring his leg is what I am trying to say.
Prob means nothing, but he is not struggling to move around. A good sign.
JV cannot get it to drop tonight
Kai Jones is putting in work tonight. Someone body that young man and send a message.
For the love of God JV, you’re 7 ft tall. Flush the ball!
I appreciate the previews, game threads, quick dance gifs, and full post game writeups. But I’d be just as happy if the preview morphed into the game threads and there was just a full post game writeup. Not telling anyone how to run the site but if it made the staff’s job easier, I’m all for it.
Jeez, first Kyrie and now Hardy… hopefully neither injury is too serious.
I’d be shocked if Kyrie comes back before the playoffs/ins
The Viking saunters to the line…Christ he is fun to watch.
16-0 runs are good, right?
When the Kings go on one, yes!
That was almost on Deebo’s career highlight reel
Dallas is experiencing the Luka curse in real time. I’m not not enjoying that this is happening to Kidd.
Similarly, I can’t think that Dinwiddie is enjoying this at all, Rob.
Kidd just looks stoic on the bench.
Looks more and more like the Luka trade was a nasty insider deal. Mikal Bridges gets 4 firsts and Luka gets a gimpy AD and one first. Even Vlade never made a trade that bad. (Can’t believe I’m defending him).
Kings are getting a lot of good looks from 3. The ball movement and spacing have been really nice.
Eddie41,
The young Mav’s fan is now asking the woman in the row in front of us if she would like to go out for a drink after the game. Hilarious.
She just said “Do you know how to Cotton Eye Joe”?
Her date is just chuckling out loud.
alright, i can picture the scene.
Are you going to ask a stranger out also? Everyone else is doing it.
Now that you mention it, there is a red headed lassie down by wine bar….
Man. I never expected to ever feel for Mavs fans the way I do right now.
And I´m German so loving Dirk is mandatory for me
I felt sorry for them, truly…then i remembered they already have won a chip and were always in the playoffs.
Isaac Jones in. Let’s see some Skal too
Is Carter injured?
Assigned to Stockton to get plenty of playing time
Thanks. Bummer that your 1 pick is G league. Hopefully because injury put him behind.
Are Skal & Carter dressed?
Are they wearing pants?
Haven’t been able to watch last two. Is Kings D much better w JV? Or just crap opponents
The weird thing is, the way that the Kings don’t utilize Domas’ skillset since the trades almost makes JV a better alternative.
That’s exactly what I wondered. They are wasting Sabonis talent by not running O through. If you’re not gonna run the o through SAbonus, then you shouldn’t keep him around.
I think they miss use Keegan Murray too. Pieces need to be moved for better fit. So that they can play around Sabonis
Mavs tv crew very effusive on Keon. Nove!
Good that the starters don’t have to play heavy minutes. Finally gonna get to four games over .500 for the first time this season.
Man, if you were a Mavs fan, everything that could go wrong this season is going wrong. To pour more salt into the wound, you have to watch Luka and the Lakers going up the standings in the West.
Skal shedding the sweats. Let’s go Skal.
Skal sighting!
Skal sighting! Drink! Oh wait…
I don’t see Carter on the bench or in the rows behind.
Dougie McBuckets for three!
I realize that if Dougie McBuckets is the answer you’re probably asking a very dumb question but I would like to see him get a quick stretch when the team is having a non-crunch scoring drought now and again. The dude can get just scorching hot, even ice cold off the bench.
Yeah Doug Christie has said there are certain situations when he might pinch hit McBuckets.
Personal foul Skal. He’s in the book!
T-6!
Oops, T-7. My bad.
