Easy game. Score 130, let in 129
DeRozan with some ole’ defense. Nice start…
Is there a stat with worst starting 5 turnovers?
Kings starting unit looking like a rec league team once again.
Keegs PG woo
Three possession Kayte is on fire.
Why are we running out with the same 5 starters when it obviously does not work.
Kayte: “We’re gonna talk about it ad nauseam.”
YOU DON’T SAY
y’know, for all the credit Ainge gets for making savvy moves to pickup assets and “winning” his trades, this team sucks and doesn’t look like it’ll be getting much better soon.
I think he is waiting for the “big move” by trading Lauri, or getting lottery luck.
That was some ugly freaking basketball by both teams. Completely unacceptable for a a trying to make the playoffs. We fans deserve much better effort and execution, especially against the worst team in the conference.
Yeah this “time to gel” excuse is gonna run out soon. Anybody who has played the game knows a couple weeks of consistent play with a crew will get you 80-90% familiar with each other’s game. These are pros, no less.
Utah at least got some open shots. Kings didn’t.
The vaunted Jazz defense!
Struggling to score 22 pts in the quarter against the 30th rated defense!
So far this looks to me like Sabonis’ worst game in a Kings uni.
Does Marc Jones know Markelle Fultz plays for the Kings now?
DC needs to get his balls off the shelf and change the start unit before Vivek gets his castrating knife and nips his coaching career in the bud.
Amazing how rangy Keon is.
Even bad NBA 3pt shooters will make wide open 3s. Kings are testing that tonight, and…yup, it’s still true.
Ellis earns his bench time when he is handling the ball.
Not to make excuses for the Kings lousy performance but, I think the refs may be Mormons.
They are winning.
What is lousy?
What have the refs done?
What does that have to do with anything?
Sorry, bad joke
Are you watching the game?
What are the Kings doing that is lousy?
What have the refs done?
The Kings are doing a good job of spreading the scoring. Lavine is getting hot but we are winning because everyone is scoring.
Lavine’s three point shooting percentage is huge for this team.
Keegan is showing signs of life in this lineup.
I think he likes playing the Jazz.
I don’t understand Utah’s mascot. A jazz bear?
Domas has taken only 3 shots so far
He is the second point guard on the floor. Leading the team from the center spot.
Second point guard with 0 assists
Yes. It is not going well for him.
How many rebounds?
He only needs ten points in the next half of the game to keep his double double consistency.
Can someone tell me what a jazz bear is?
13 minutes and two points for Ellis. Fultz is trying out for his job.
Different positions
Minutes played. They don’t have a true point guard. Fultz can take the twenty minutes Keon gets. There are 5 shooting guards. Keon is one of five.
Your first statement has to change if that’s your point.
No it does not. There are only so many players in the rotation. Fultz is trying to get minutes. There is no rule that a point guard must take the place of a point guard.
better off starting your argument over. I responded to your first point. Not responding to every modification.
nice three by Keon right there. Nothing but net!
Danny G’s comments seem oddly familiar to me.
Yup
My first point is Fultz is trying to earn minutes. They need a point guard more than a shooting guard. With this roster Keon is the one that is already on the bench.
Damn…I hate watching this roster play ball.
I haven’t disliked watching a team this much since the Blake Griffin & CP-led Clippers teams. Ugh, just awful.
Winning is bad?
Go ahead and relish those recent wins against the dregs of the NBA if you want to, I am not easily mollified.
Enjoy it. It is ok for the Kings to win. Beating a team they should beat is part of success.
I hope that when the FO gets fired during the off-season that they find two new announcers as well, I can no longer stomach Kayte and Drapes on the mic.
Why did you turn the game on?
I’ve been a Kings fan for over 30 years…the lack of self-inflicted harm would be unbearable.
The third quarter collapse is a cultural problem within the locker room. Not the roster.
Anyone think the double big lineup would work against the Jazz?
Not being funny, but is there something wrong with Sabonis? His head is elsewhere.
He is busy trying to keep the team going in the right direction and ignoring his own stats. Leaders do that.
That’s why he’s been turning the ball over so much?
I’ve got nothing bad to say about that man, he’s a plowhorse. He’s just been making a lot of dumb mistakes, and that ain’t Domantas Sabonis.
Because he is trying to pass to players that are not familiar. That is low assists and high turnovers. He will figure it out.
He’s been grabbing his leg (left hamstring particularly) a lot over the last three games I’ve watched. I suspect he’s playing through something.
Whenever “meaningless regular season games” are mentioned, tonight is what they’re talking about.
Unless you lose.
I want to see more of the new giant we have to back up Sabonis.
Once Keegan stops twisting himself into knots to avoid contact on his shots, that will be the moment he becomes great. He’d be absolutely dangerous.
He’s gotta embrace his physicality. He tries to avoid contact and make a circus shot instead of just taking the contact and getting to the line.
I agree, I hope that it comes naturally as he ages/gets stronger.
When Keegan first came out I remembered he compared his game to Khris Middleton, which surprised me. I see a different kind of player, more physical. He’s playing out of role right now IMO as a 4, but with the right lineup I could see him being a consistent factor on both ends of the floor.
Monk is handling the ball far too much. I want to see a rotation with Fultz and Ellis up top.
Totally agree. Monk is just too turnover prone and reckless with his decision making. Off the bench it provides a vital spark. As a starter, combined with his meh defense, it just throws momentum fully to the other team.
Who should be the starting point guard?
De’Aaron Fox
Do you know he chose to play for another team?
That is not how contracts work, but hey…if you’re happy with this roster then I am glad that at least someone is.
It is different and different is good. Need some more players to round it out though.
Did you hear anything about the Fox situation and his agent?
Yeah dude, I heard.
I have a feeling we have completely different takes on what actually happened and what led up to the clusterfuck it became.
So his contract had nothing to do with the trade?
He could have made more money here. He chose to leave. This team just won a game.
Trick question- we don’t have one. But if I were making the call, I’d go with Ellis and drop Monk to the 2, DD to the bench. You need early game defense and Keegan with Ellis puts your two best wing defenders on the floor.
Ellis is not a ball handler.
Of the man odd things with our roster, one fortunate thing is the number of possible ball handlers: Sabonis, Ellis, Monk and LaVine can all compensate. Well, let me put it another way- they’ll have to, as we don’t have a true starting PG.
You are the only person who puts Ellis in the possible point guard category.
Might work? Who knows?
Fultz looks like the possibility in my opinion. Not all that good so far though.
Ellis is not playing within an offense. Hate to see him still lost this deep into the season. He can play one side but needs to figure out the other side.
Kings should be up 20 but they want the highlight and keep screwing up lay-ups trying for alley-oops. Infuriating
Hate seeing a team win.
Vali?#?%^as is the most efficient player on the Kings roster. I need to figure out to spell and type his name.
“JV” works
I like that.
It’s pronounced “violent-choonas.”
Nice one.
Please don’t praise me.
Being positive here is something that bothers everyone.
Lavine learning about the Sacramento tax.
Smashed in the head going to the hoop? “We ain’t seen nothin”
Mark Jones catchphrases are
”Yea, yea” and, “Right”.
IYKYK
What do you think of the game?
I don’t know Troll, what do you think?
I think it is good game. I am enjoying seeing the team win and the new guys find their roles.
Maybe this roster is overcoming the third quarter collapse?
I like the surge in the lead and effort.
You gotta hand it to a solid tank job. Well done Utah, well done.
You love this team don’t you?
Toxic positivity is a thing.
I am enjoying the game and seeing the new roster put something together.
This team does not play beautiful basketball like it did with that Beam Team. Ball doesn’t zip around, cutters aren’t constantly in action, ball doesn’t flow through and around Domas. It’s a shame because a lot talent is there. Kings need a floor general that can push pace like Fox could.
This team is winning. This team has some size. Fox is gone.
Lead was down to three, Ellis comes in, lead is now fourteen.
That’s what he does.
Love to see him figure out his place in the offense.
I’d love to see his coach and teammates figure out Ellis’ place in the offense.
He’s made four out of every nine three-pointers this season, his eFG percentage is .637, and True Shooting is at .662. And for what it’s worth, he’s by far the team’s best defender.
Keon’s got things figured out just fine.
With the catch shoot he does. When he is dribbling the ball or making decisions with it he struggles.
And the lead is twenty.
Could somebody on the Kings play a little 3pt defense? Just for a couple of minutes? Please!!!!!!!!
The new guys are instantaneously lifting the team’s three point percentage.
Ellis is getting the catch and shoot going. He needs to stick with that. It is working well.
Building on a lead early in the fourth. Playing smart down the stretch. Allow the bench to finish the game to rest the starting core.
Good way to play and an improvement for this team.
Keep wedging in your Christianity, Mark!
20 point lead and the Kings are cruising. This is new.
Sabonis may never hit a three-point shot again.
JV has him taken care of.
It causes me physical discomfort to watch Sabonis shoot threes.
It should. He belongs in the paint.
He’s shooting over 44% from three this year.
Recently the shot looks off to me. Like I say above, it looks like he’s playing through something.
Not sure what it is. But we know he can shoot with accuracy.
It’s been short the past few games. Like every 3pt shot is front iron for him.
Sabonis is up to six assists. Basically all in the second half.
Keegan is the highest scoring King. Things are looking up.
Ellis +22 in thirty minutes.
His string of threes helped out. Individual plus/minus is useless though. I like seeing him put points on the board.
He was really good tonight, my only complaint was that he didn’t intentionally foul JC to keep him from scoring at all.
Nothing matters if they don’t beat good teams and the schedule is about to give them a lot of chances.
