With 32.3% of the vote, Keon Johnson takes the 15th spot on the Kings Herald Draft Board. He joins Davion Mitchell, Kai Jones, Jalen Johnson, Zaire Williams, James Bouknight, Alperen Åengün, Franz Wagner, Moses Moody, Jonathan Kuminga, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Suggs, Jalen Green, Evan Mobley and Cade Cunningham.
When a choice comes up, pick who you'd want the Kings to pick given all the players remaining. Note: THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT. This is a draft board, a ranked list of prospects you'd like to see the Kings pick. In other words, if we were the Kings front office, when our pick came up, we'd take the top name left on our board. So pick your choice, not who you think Monte McNair or anyone else would choose in a slot.
Explain your choice in the comments, and lobby for who should be added to the next pick's choices.
This poll ends at 7 AM tomorrow. This will be the last vote before the final board is compiled on Wednesday.
Went with TMIII this time. Big wing, good defender, shoots the absolute ass off of the ball:
43% from three, 92.7% from the line, he’s a high-floor guy, good passer, has instincts like Halliburton for deflections, jumping passing lanes, etc.
He’s mostly a three & D guy, but as his handle improves, will become a more versatile threat on offense. Thought about Mann, but went with size/position of need.
There’s no way Kispert falls this far IMO. He’s basically the only shooter in the draft. I get the “low ceiling” argument, but I don’t think it’s as low as people think. His athletic measurables were pretty good (solid shuttle run and vertical numbers) and while his value truly lies in his shooting, it isn’t a foregone conclusion that he has any glaring weaknesses either.
Ordinarily, this would be a huge compliment: Kispert feels busty.
Just one more reason to draft him. LOL
Putting Kispert aside (I’m not really a fan of drafting specialists high unless it’s literally the one thing you need), this isn’t really true.
He’s probably the most complete outside shooting prospect, but there are plenty of other shooting prospects. Duarte is an excellent all-around shooter. Murphy and Wieskamp are both also good wing shooters. You could also put Livers and Hauser in there. Mann, Hyland and Zegarowski are all versatile guard shooters with good pull-up games. Mitchell has a case. …
OK. But this is actually a pretty poor shooting class and he can shoot. I don’t think he’s necessarily one dimensional either.
Josh Giddey. Will go much higher than this on draft day.
I agree…..
Josh Giddey worths more than 16th pick
Hollinger has Giddey at 10th on his mock. Just to illustrate your point, more or less Bryant.
I voted for him at earlier picks, missed the last few picks, and was surprised to see him still available. I think he’s going to be really good. The fit with this team isn’t great but I think he’d be a great pick at 9
This may be breaking, but Hollinger isn’t trying to buoy our hopes:
From here ($)
Rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells
Bullshit on parade!
What a glorious parade that will be. 🙁
Hopefully not anything close to the parade thrown for the Monarchs when they won an actual championship.
Hollinger’s disdain for the Kings org generally makes me laugh. I also wonder what he’ll say when there is a legitimately great move made by the Kings at some point in the future. Hopefully good things, that tends to be his actual MO.
It’s tough to be salty about the 40-42 crack, though.
But he’s not wrong. We could all see Vivek and Co. handing out atta boys and cigars for being merely mediocre on his watch.
Tangent: I wouldn’t mind the Kings picking up Jontay Porter for the back of the roster or a two-way deal.
Garuba, (Jamaica)…ooh I wanna take ya
Well, getting K. Johnson off the board didn’t take too long…
Giddey-yep!
