Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles has been suspended one game without pay for his role in an altercation with Brook Lopez in Monday nights 133-124 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Lopez was fined $25,000.

In case you missed it, you can view the incident here:

Mike Brown was supportive of Lyle’s toughness in those closing moments vs. Milwaukee. In his post-game presser, Brown stated, “I don’t know what happened, but we ain’t taking no shit from nobody. Trust me on that. They are all going to have each others back in there. That doesn’t mean we’re going to go out there and start something, but we’re going to stick up for ourselves.”

Lyles will serve his one game suspension vs. the Chicago Bulls tonight. Trey has been a key contributor for the Kings off the bench all season, and while the 2022-23 Bulls aren’t world-beaters, Sacramento will miss certainly miss him.

That’s fair.

Are you sure that it’s Lyles who is suspended? The NBA used his name and not “number forty-one.”

I’m just glad it wasn’t more than one game. And at least it’s against a team that we should be able to beat if we play the right way.

I agree. Now lets start worrying about winning basketball games. We have a good chance to move up not down and I think we can win all four of these away games. GO KINGS!

While it’s not my money, it seems like it was worth the price.

Generally, the Greek is one of the good guys but he instigated contact. Lyles minding his own business and the Greek bumped him, prompting the shove and then the “protection” from that large goofy twin guy.
One game suspension consistent with NBA practice.

But Kings ought not to take shit from anybody.

Road trip- as all the games is important.
I remember when TD was the next best thing after the Nets game. Same with Edwards after the Suns. Then we get a slight regression to the mean. Both could use some consistency.
But you go with what you have and a single explosion game does not hurt.
Middleton who killed the Kings more than anyone was out against the Suns and Bucks still won.
Next 15 games are important- duh !

Fakers may sneak into the 10th slot.

Pfft. Lame they made no mention of Giannis starting shit.

Only silver lining is that they should bring up Queta for a game.

Honestly, Giannis should have been fined as well. All three, Giannis, Lopez, and Lyles were responsible for the escalation. Levels of culpability are debatable. Anyone could’ve stopped it.

It’s The Little Bitch penalty. 😜

l love this stuff personally, and I’m glad the Kings are on the forward side of aggression for once.

As much as I want to blame Giannis, he’s a champion. Should he have crossed up Lyles? No. But Giannis doesn’t have to apologize to anyone and Lyles doesn’t need push him either. Lopez is Lopez. All and all, a fair punishment and I like the fire from the Kings.

Love how Coach Brown has Lyles’ back. Lyles did appear to me to be in the wrong here, but I like how he wasn’t taking shit from that goon Lopez. Time the Kings showed a little toughness. Didn’t expect it from Lyles, but I’m glad we have him on our team.
