Coming off the back of a social media firestorm that took place last week after critical comments by media members were caught on a hot mic during Media Day, Vivek Ranadive has seemingly doubled down and decided that insulting a broad range of Kings players and staff was the best way to boost morale in the Sacramento.
According to NBA reporter Zach Lowe, the Kings “went out to a fancy training dinner, the whole team, the staff, everything, and at the dinner, Vivek Ranadive spoke, and he kind of turned the dinner into a roast of lots of people in the room. telling them all the ways in which they have been failing as players, coaches, executives, whatever…”
Lowe also said he went on to check with the Kings and they “confirmed the gist of that.”
And how, might you ask yourself, did the staff, players and management of the worst franchise in the National Basketball Association take the owner’s attempts at motivation?
“Some people were alarmed and, were like, this was not going over the way you intended.”
The quintessential, all encompassing quote for Ranadive’s entire reign in Sacramento.

When the pre-season already feels long you know we’re in trouble. Sell the team.
ChatGPT weighs in
2) guy who just won a title
3) a guy who no longer owns a team
Vivek is in a class all his own
Not going to help next off season when cap space is available and you need to recruit free agents.
Did Vivek say what the media says about him? About his failures? About his mismanagement of everything he comes into contact with? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
When Zach Lowe says the Kings are a punch line, he’s not talking about Scott Perry, or Monte McNair, or Vlade Divac (OK he is talking about Vlade) or Mike Malone or Mike Brown. The punchline is the one person who was been consistent for over a decade. The person who has done nothing but fail, over and over and over, in humiliating ways, for well over a decade now.
It’s not them. It’s you, Vivek.
Dumbest guy to ever own a professional sports team. Not the worst person, but the dumbest. Vivek is anti-competent. He can’t even accidentally succeed.
Sell the team.
