I’m at the game. First time since the Pelicans game was cancelled. Not a lot of fans. Kinda weird with the cutouts. Food program sucks. Download QR code, order food, wait for confirmation, pick up food. Eat outside after getting wristband to come back in or eat in designated areas. Glad I didn’t arrive hungry.
And this is after everyone admitted has either been vaccinated or has a recent negative test. Gotta wear masks the whole game. People spaced out quite a bit.
I’ll tell you what I like about Mo Harkless aside from his defense: If he takes more than two steps toward the basket, he’s looking to crush it on whoever happens to be standing there.
Highest percentage shot in the game, should be the goal whenever possible.
That can be totally true and yet they still take minutes from the same positions and take up space on the same cap sheet. Between Metu, Holmes, and Bagley, I think Metu has to be Monte’s darling. Young, cheap, productive and with upside. The question becomes, do you want to pay $25/yr for the other two? And if not, which one goes (I know, I know…)
Davis could be a Lou Williams type of sixth man, but with the length and athleticism to be a plus defender.
I’m not for trading Buddy just to move him, but Davis adds a nice wrinkle to the roster. Wright, Harkless and Davis have really changed how the team plays.
Yep, those three plus Metu make the core of a very good second unit. I think it’s time to call the end of the Justin James and Kyle Guy era. Need more production from those two roster spots. Plus we have draft picks to accommodate.
I can’t believe that we got him. A second year diamond in the ruff. These three guys that Monte picked up late this year are looking like the steals of the year. Well, a Kangz steal anyway.
I agree Davis and Wright are very useful and Davis could be genuine steal….but where are we going to find the money to sign Davis especially if we want to keep Holmes…even if he dumps Buddy to sign Holmes and keep Wright with the way Davis is playing his price is going up everyday and we might be pricing ourselves out of the market by playing him before signing him…and if you think they will dump Bagley I don’t believe this owner will ever ever allow that. If Davis keeps playing the amazing way he has I am sure somebody takes a flyer on him like a 3 year 18 million contract with only 3 million of the 2nd year guaranteed and 3rd year being team option which we would struggle to match. Davis is only a 23 year old 2nd year player with shockingly high upside and skills.
I don’t think Davis is likely to get offers much past four million per year. There are a lot of instances where guys who were second-rounders or undrafted end up in a bucket where they are underpaid, and stay there. Lou Williams has won Sixth Man of the Year three times, and has never made more that eight million in a year.
Richaun is something of an example of that. He’s been consistently good wherever he’s played, and up til now, not making a ton of money, relatively speaking. I fully expect that to change this summer, and if I was betting, the Kings won’t be able to afford him, barring a significant trade.
Yeah I think we have solid pieces when healthy. We need a better coach. Preferably not a players’ coach. I want a defensive coach who will hold players accountable on both ends.
I have a feeling that Harkless might be the odd man out. I’d be very happy to have him back, but he may be playing himself out of the Kings price range, given the cap situation.
I won’t be too surprised to see him go. Im mainly hoping for a coaching change, and don’t mind terribly if the roster isn’t too different to start the season.
And then perhaps Buddy gets offloaded next trade deadline if the roster still can’t compete with a competent coach.
Pizza Guys must love paying a fucking fortune to be a Kings’ advertising partner, and hear Doug Jones talk about going to some other pizza place after the game.
I don’t think that they are. Jones was doing this a lot at the beginning of the season, in what I perceived as an attempt to seem more local, and a good guy for mentioning local businesses. I don’t object to that, but if I was a core advertiser and heard him freebie one of my competitors, no matter how small, I’d have my account manager with the Kings doing a facetime call with my ass in about thirty seconds.
After a season, I don’t think I love Jones as the play-by-play guy. Kyle Draper works better as an analyst, but between the two, Draper is better. Jones is very wooden, and leans hard on a number of verbal crutches. It’s okay to have a couple, but I shouldn’t be able to know what he’s going to say about a certain play before he says it.
Then there’s his reliance on what I can only assume is an alliterative thesaurus. Don’t tell me the defense is “impregnable and impenetrable.” Same thing. He does this all the time.
I don’t think that we’ve found our long-term PBP person yet.

God, that’s sucks.
Thrilling game so far zzzzzzzzzz.
Same experience I had at the Spurs game last Friday. At least you could enjoy the win! Go Kings!

Yeah he does/
Folks, Monte isn’t paying Richaun $12/yr to take minutes away from Metu…….
(unless its Marvin’s $11/yr that bothers him more)
Their skill sets are different and they’re different kinds of players.
That can be totally true and yet they still take minutes from the same positions and take up space on the same cap sheet. Between Metu, Holmes, and Bagley, I think Metu has to be Monte’s darling. Yep, the Kings are chock full of non-stretch PF/Small ball Cs.
Buddy and Harkless are clowns rn
17-2 run. That’s never a good look.
Did you all hear Kayte and others explain that the Kings are 5-1 in their last 6? Winning! ð. They’re also a great defense team now. ð
No Bagley?
DNP-Rest
Oh, FFS. Really? With 3 games left?
No, I kid. He’s out due to injury (really).
Soft tissue issue in his leg.
Injury, this kid is such a weak suck
Oh ok, even worse.
They’re saving him for next years playoff run.
Playoff run? You mean play-in run.
This is good
Why is everybody standing up on OKC’s bench? You guys are 1-23 the last 24
That’s their punishment. No sitting until they win.
Have a rec!
“Yeah, man! Fuck your team spirit!”
Why is this a problem for you?
Yet currently prepping to officially eliminate us from the post-season for the 15th straight season.
I’m kinda thinking T Davis can fill Buddy’s shoes if he does leave.
Davis could be a Lou Williams type of sixth man, but with the length and athleticism to be a plus defender.

Agreed, and Jones could be a solid backup center. His shooting form looks pretty good for a guy that big, and he’s looked good passing the ball.
So much is going to depend on whether or not a qualified head coach is hired.
#1 on my offseason wish list- new head coach ðð½
100%. Luke’s gone for sure.
I can’t believe that we got him. A second year diamond in the ruff. These three guys that Monte picked up late this year are looking like the steals of the year. Well, a Kangz steal anyway.
I can’t imagine what Ujiri was thinking. He hasn’t taken a stupid breath in his entire life.

The Value Dumpling Gang?¦
Buddy with four fouls..TD time
TD showing up tonight
The Deadliners have just been killing it.
Kings have talent 1-10. Like you all said, just need the coach to get the most out of them.
Yeah I think we have solid pieces when healthy. We need a better coach. Preferably not a players’ coach. I want a defensive coach who will hold players accountable on both ends.
It’s so nice to have shooters on this team for a change and who can also play defense.
Damien Jones needs to slow it down a bit.
He’s getting those reps in. A full off-season knowing that he’s got a job, and team resources behind him could be big.
Every time I see TD from the back, what I read is DAVISH.
Darn it! 9 min left and up by 24. Put in the bench!!!
Gotta get Ramsey his 5:39.
I thought the bench was playing..
Save our Sonics!!!!
Lol Doug calling Fox’s fiancé Reese Witherspoon….it’s Recee Caldwell, former Cal basketball player, she wasn’t quite good enough to go pro.
That’s what I just posted. I had to rewind it.
How the F do you even do that? Reese Witherspoon is twice Fox’s age.
They have basically the same first name, and Witherspoon is a hell of a lot more famous. Do you really not understand how that happened?
No I don’t understand ð. Not at all.
Lol I understand, when I think Reese I think Witherspoon…..but sometimes Dougs speech makes me think his brain is a little frazzled.
Who wants to bet the A’s leave Oakland. I’ve seen this play out not too long ago
With the Raiders, Rams, Chargers, Expos, Thunder, Hornets, Grizzlies, or someone else?
Doug just called Fox’s fiance Reese Witherspoon. ððððð. What an epic f-up. Her name is Reece Caldwel. WTF?
Davis, Jones, Metu, Wright and Harkless are giving me a good vibe going into next year.
Agreed if we keep Davis (RFA) and Harkless (UFA) for the right price.
and I’m trying not to get too excited with their performance against OKC…..
I have a feeling that Harkless might be the odd man out. I’d be very happy to have him back, but he may be playing himself out of the Kings price range, given the cap situation.
Next season is a long way off…
I won’t be too surprised to see him go. Im mainly hoping for a coaching change, and don’t mind terribly if the roster isn’t too different to start the season.
And then perhaps Buddy gets offloaded next trade deadline if the roster still can’t compete with a competent coach.
Is that a King I see?
Pizza Guys must love paying a fucking fortune to be a Kings’ advertising partner, and hear Doug Jones talk about going to some other pizza place after the game.
Didn’t he say Italian food?
I’m guessing those drops are casual ads. Remember, the team has a sucking chest wound for a balance sheet.
I don’t think that they are. Jones was doing this a lot at the beginning of the season, in what I perceived as an attempt to seem more local, and a good guy for mentioning local businesses. Needed a lousy 39 combined points in the 4th quarter to cover the over. My whopping $10 bet is in jeopardy.
Luke is so terrible. Calls a timeout and comes out on to the floor mad muggin.’ What a joker.
Sloppy ending to the game by the Kings. But won the game we should’ be winning.
Next one against Memphis will be a big one.
I’m so indifferent at this point. It’s soooo hard to care!
Will Bagley’s soft tissue injury extend to the all star break next season?
