Must win game. Go Kings!
Let’s get it on
Keegan has to score on Booker when he’s got him on the post. Ay ay ay.
Wtf guys!!! How the hell do you let Booker leak out like that!!!
I can kinda see why Atlanta traded huerter
You mean he isn’t perfect all the time? Yeah, I see that too. It was financial related….. but it’s not fatal if AJ Griffin plans out. And he might.
Nevertheless he’s been a nice addition for us
I think it needs to be said……….Monte must stop drafting imperfect players.
No one on this team understands how long rebounds work
The early rebounding has been frustrating.
Dumb foul by Keegan.
2 on Davion. Ay ay ay.
Mitchell is lost out there.
God these Suns commentators are annoying. All they do is brag about how great their team is and then whine about fouls
14 to 4 paint points Phx. This has to change.
The Kings are up becuz they have hit 5 3s. But are down 16 to 6 in paint points. Phx has 8 points off 3 Sac TOVs.
Kings should be up more.
Didn’t know Damion Lee was such a foul merchant. That’s like 3 flops at this point
Another easy 2 for Booker.
2 smoked layups now by Davis. At least he can shoot
He went soft on that 2nd one too. Unfortunately.
Looks like Fox is going to have to carry us tonight.
He’s got 13 already.
I don’t recall seeing the ball yanked out of Domas’s arms before
Domas needs to pick it up as well.
26 to 8 paint points Phx.
Non Fox minutes kicking the Kings ass. Rough minutes from Davion this half(-11 plus/minus already) and Domas struggling vs Ayton
Hopefully that OReb + FTs gets Domas going.
Okogie couldn’t have been more open
Nice look inside by Murray to Lyles. This kid is coming along.
There was a bad take here
I just can’t understand why the Kongs thinks they can play at half-assed effort because the other team is missing players.
28-8 points in the paint advantage for the Suns and counting. Kings won’t stay in this game for long if they don’t fix that. That or they better hope their 3PT shooting stays hot
We have a seven footer. Why don’t we try putting him on Ayton?
Jones is calling this game like he’s on ESPN. We don’t care about Ayton’s mom’s jerk chicken. Give me a break.
If this is a flagrant, this game could get ugly fast
Why?
Idrk, just general no-defense-Kangz pesimism
Suns defending well, Kings just making some really tough shots fortunately.
This game means something to Phx. That’s the good news. Bad news is that the Kings haven’t been great.
Domas should have gone up with that shot instead of kicking it out to Huerter. Kings are at least tied with the Suns at that point. Who knows what happens after that.
Down 4 is hardly the end of the world. Especially with the paint points disparity (32-12).
First thing that canine and Morgan talked about or points in the paint
If Ayton keeps shooting like this the Suns will be pretty damn unbeatable when KD gets going..
Kings +8 at the FT line, +18 from 3PT, AND have a 9-3 OREB advantage but are down 4 because the Suns have a massive 34-12 advantage points in the paint.
Interested to see how the Kings come out here.
Hopefully with better defense….I say this as I watch CP3 just easily get to his spot again for an easy midrange
These guys ain’t no french fry. With or without Mikal Bridges.
Devin Booker is rather angry. Can’t imagine why.
Kardashions?
Suns think they’ve got this in the bag. They’ve turned it up a few notches. Can the Kings respond?
Honestly think the Suns end up as the 2 seed in the West when its said and done…assuming KD is returning immediately post all-star break.
They look like they have another gear available to them.
Chris Paul and Devin Booker seem like assholes, or is just me?
Thought it was common knowledge? Those 2 have always been easy to root against
It is common knowledge.
Well I wouldn’t want to say anything negative about you
The amount of time these Suns commentators spend complaining about the refs, you’d think that the Kings had moved a state over
Nice run without Booker on the court. You have to make a push here to stay within contact. Also, Keegan has to hit shots or the Kings have to find someone who will. To win this game, anyway.
Better energy from the Kings here. More active on the defensive end
Kessler Edwards time!
Kessler making his debut here
Intrigued to see how he does.
You’ve seen the full scale of the TD experience. At least the Kings aren’t out of yet…. yet.
Yep. One extreme to another from possession to possession with him
TD out of control
We really need Davion to start scoring a little more consistently as teams are sagging off him..
TD playing like an even more out of control Monk. Just terrible turnovers the last few possessions. Had multiple chances to tie the game up and are now back down 8 again
Brown really scraping the bottom of the barrel here
Lol Keon with maybe the quickest foul and then subbed out you’ll ever see
1.1 seconds!
FOX!
One of the most impressive moments this season IMO.
Fox. All star.
Nice steal and layup by Fox to close out the quarter. Gotta do something about the defense and get inside more, but this game is still well within reach.
Davion Mitchell is a bust, and the team needs a new backup pg next year
I don’t think a back of the lottery pick can be a bust.
Ho hum, another game, another opponent scoring 90+ in less than 3 quarters of play. You know, the Kings would be a more legitimate contender if their defense had, I don’t know, existence.
Every time the Kings get it down to 3-4, they immediately fall back down 8-10
It’s uncanny really.
That play just showed the fundamental flaw with our rebounding: there were three guys right below the hoop with an easy board, but all three assumed one of the other two would get the rebound and instead the Suns grabbed it for more second chance points. We don’t rebound well because no one cares enough.
Chris “talk shit in the regular season and choke in the postseason” Paul.
Kings getting out hustled in this game. 4 Kings around the ball and the Suns get the rebound. Not gonna win that way
3 Kings players right there and they let the Suns get the OREB smh. Metu has been terrible
Ball handling turnovers also killing then.
Edwards is a no-factor except for okay defense on Booker for about 20 seconds
Kessler has a better looking shooting motion than KZ, so that bodes well for his potential on the offensive end.
Huerter sucking at FT’s will still always make no sense
We need someone, someone to get hot from 3 and some rebounding.
Maybe the kings just aren’t quite as good as their record… With the way the west is stacked and them having this year’s pick…? They may just be a year or two away. Still an amazing year to celebrate
They’re as good as their record, or they wouldn’t have that record. They’re just prone to taking nights off.
This isn’t that. Phx is just beating them to the punch on everything. They are hungrier. By a smidge.
Kings are keeping it respectable. But yeah, what Guru said…
I’d argue more than a smidge. Kings came out of the gate looking very lackluster. Never turned it up from there.
I’m not trying to be negative, totally excited about how well they have played and where they are this year. Just not sure we can count on them not taking a night or 4 off during the playoffs lol. Happy Valentine’s day all
I hear you. I don’t think there’s any way they aren’t going to be one and done regardless of what part of the post season they land in, play-in or playoff.
That said, if they can still manage finish around .500 (or better), this season was a rousing success. Regardless of if they actually make the postseason or not. Nobody, except the eternal optimists, expected us to be where we are right now.
But, for the present, they are the third seed, the future be damned.
In the end, the West is probably coming down to Nuggets/Suns. Kings just gotta handle their business against the likes of the Mavs/Clips/Pels etc in the 2nd half and find a way to keep themselves in that top 6.
Crap, Huerter’s right hand getting looked at
Murray as a 3pt contest replacement.
They’ve clearly been in ASB mode for this whole game. It’s a miracle it’s only 11 points.
Phx just beating us up. Sigh.
They are a good team..I can see how Ayton in the middle really allows them to play tight defense on perimeter.. I think we could be similar on Defense if we had a shot blocker.. not too upset at losing against a good team on the road..
Did somebody fail to mention to the team that the Suns are right behind them in the standings?
Why? Phx is good. It’s not like they were going to lay down tonight.
No Durant, bench gutted.
We should have won this particular game, rather than taking an early break. That said, this is a team that will definitely finish ahead of us
I think you are overstating where their bench is at. But that said, I agree it’s frustrating. Not enough good performances tonight to win.
They are a good team and we are on the road.. not wringing my hands over this loss..
In a vacuum no, but this is a growing trend. One that can’t continue if they want to make the postseason (or even the playoffs)
Yeah, if they were ever gonna steal 1 of their remaining games against the Suns, it had to be this one with no KD and depth pieces like Mikal/Cam traded. Suns with KD in the 2nd half will overtake not only them but probably the Grizzlies too anyway
I saw us at a 500 finish for these last few games, starting tonight. However, I think a revision is probably in order to around 11-14 or 10-15.
Where is Murray?
In a rookie vacuum
Not happy about the Suns hitting about 60% from the floor but totally stoked to be where we are at this point in the season.
The Suns don’t scare me. But the Kings weren’t their best selves tonight.
Mostly bad defense being counteracted by occasional good defense and no rebounding, or good defense and no offense, or good defense and CP and Booker turn into prime Kobe
That non-Fox minutes shifted the momentum away from us in the 2nd quarter. CP3 and Book being themselves as well.
Ayton had a great game shooting.
Games like this, the Pelicans, Wolves, Raptors, Philly…if they don’t learn to show up and play against shorted teams, they’re going to be left duking it out with 3 or 4 teams for the 10th spot. Coming down the stretch, now isn’t the time to be making vacation reservations for late April.
Suns were hot. But Kings gotta get better defensively. 2 things to change for the second half. 1. No more Metu. This team needs toughness. Play Holmes. 2. Find a better back-up PG. Monk? Even Delly maybe. Davion is just a zero on offense.
Yeah, he shouldn’t be getting more than 7 or 8 minutes a night, and not every night…and definitely not without somebody who can run the offense also on the floor.
I had hopes he could build on that finish last season, but he’s regressed to the point where he looks to have been a massive 1st round reach.
