Keegan Murray
I stopped by the Rockets TV booth and talked to Calvin Murphy for about a minute. I asked him what he thinks about the Kings standing in the Western Conference. He said “I think they will finish 3rd or fourth without any injuries, you have to like their team oriented approach that Mike Brown and his assistants have instilled. They are a good team and can score with any team.
As to the trade deadline, every Kings player on the roster is suited up tonight. Have to see if any one sits out and does not play. Long way until tomorrow in NBA hours.
I’m curious if they stay in Houston overnight or just head back to Sac. From a logistics perspective, it might be easier to stay in Houston.
WTF? Lakers give up Westbrook and a pick and get D’Angelo, Vando, and Beasley? That’s robbery.
It’s also a salary issue. Getting in the salary range of Westbrook requires you to give up multiple players.
It’s not especially shocking given that the Jazz clear some cap space and get another pick.
It helps all 3 teams IMO. I’m not sure it helps LA as much unless Russell can be better than he has been in Minny these last few years.
I’m shocked that all Utah gets out of giving up Conley, Vando, and Beasley is Westbrook (who they are going to buy out) and a 1st protected 1-4.
Those guys aren’t all super valuable. I think Utah values not only the salary space but also the roster spots.
It’s a clear tanking move.
Danny Ainge smoming crack tonight.
Unsurprisingly, the worse team is once again coming in with higher energy and walking all over the Kings
Play zero defense and it doesn’t matter who the opponent is. That sums up the 1st quarter for the Kings.
What was that Malik?!?!?
Sloppy game so far.
Rockets getting to the rim with ease. Zero resistance from the perimeter defense
If the Kings haven’t gotten to the line quite a bit already, Houston would be up 15.
Hope this is the kind of game where the Kings just kind of sleepwalk through the 1st half vs a bad team and then kick it into another gear in the 2nd half to pull away
Rockets getting to the hoop with ease so far tonight, and not hitting their own threes.
The rockets have their own forum
Pay them a visit…
Sorry it was just a joke, didn’t mean to be rude
Same for me. No worries.
Kings just getting out rebounded here late.
Oh great, another officiating crew who thinks folks came to the game to watch them
Gary just said “The Kings have themselves a mountain to climb”.
They’re down four LoL
Kings better start playing some defense or start hitting their 3’s. Preferably both
Davion gets the steal!
Ur boy Davion putting on a show in Houston
Huge minutes from the bench to end this quarter with both Fox and Domas on the bench
This second team played fluidly to
finish the quarter after Sabonis’ 5th foul.
DAmn, Josh Hart traded to the Knicks. Would have been a great fit for the Kings
For what?
Cam Reddish and a protected future 1st rd pick
Ahahaha. The Blazers don’t make alot of sense sometimes.
Good news is both Utah and now Portland look to be selling, which will help clear up the playoff field in the 2nd half. Of course, Lakers clearly improved, but they dug such a hole that I don’t think they will get out of that 7-10th seed range
The Kings face the Blazers three times and the Jazz twice. The schedule goes for and against you.
After the All Star break, that is.
Nope.
Very crappy defense being played by the Kings.
sweet alley-oop to monk
Just getting absolutely killed on the boards
And1 HB!!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh….Kings get a few stops/force turnovers and go 0/3 converting points.
0/4 now. That was their chance to really extend the 2 point lead
Sabonis and Sengun going at each other to see who fouls out first
Oh come on Sengun is just flopping.
Keegan!!!!!!
Kings getting embarrassed defensively and Fox is going to have to share the ball to win.
A serious playoff team has got to come out against opponents like the Rockets at least every once and a while and beat them early. You can’t wait until the 4th in every game.
Fox forcing some bad shots.
Ugly
Davion might be needed for Green. That dude is a bucket
Novel idea having a guard that can play D and shoot.
I don’t think Davion is stopping Jalen Green at the moment
Oh ffs Green really gonna just hit all these ridiculous shots?
Talk shit when you’re not in last place Green.
NBA needs to change rules and make it a foul on the shooter when they kick out.
Sure do
Green vs. Fox shootout.
Green wins
I meant Fox wins*
Fox is ice cold at the moment Green is hotter than fish grease
Might need to get Davion in for Monk and have him just glued to Green.
I was thinking the same thing. Monk was totally out of control and not contributing anything. Davion would have slowed down Green and let Fox guard a lesser offensive player. Would have been like 3 positives. Brown is doing a great job, that’s one of the few times when I really questioned what was happening.
Houston is tired of losing.
Correction: KINGS ARE PLAYING LIKE SHIT.
No ball movement
Ball movement is not what Fox is about.
Pretty amazing to get 11 assists without moving the ball.
The Kings thought they could walk to a win again.
Key word: again. The Kings could have hit this team in the third and they would have folded.
Kings really just missed 3 layups there
Jump Ball?
Asshole refs.
This is dumb.
Another really bad loss to a very bad team because the Kings decided to not play a lick of defense. Now they get Luka/Kyrie back to back and then go at PHX with Booker back before the break.
I underestimated how badly the Rockets want Wemby. I gotta know what the Kings win probability was with Houston having the ball up 1 with 2 seconds left in the game
Can someone explain why they called a jump ball?
HOLY SHIT! Kings might steal this
What’s going on in here?
No reason this should be happening……
The gray team sure was entertaining tonight. Lots of fouls and violations.
lol
A miracle in our time! Light the beam.
crazy finish
Thank you Mr Gordon
Eric Gordon is one of the greatest Tank Commanders
The Rockets either f’ed that up royally or the rockets tanked the end
Light the damn bean. Let’s roll.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Whew.
Wtf was that?
I actually kinda hope they fall out of playoff contention, because, maybe then they will realize defense is not the part of the game when you take a break and relax.
I missed the entire fourth quarter except for Fox’s last free throw. What the hell, light the beam!
Kardiac Kangz
Wow, the Kings just got payback from the refs for earlier in the season
I was right in line with Fox’s shot. It was a body foul, not a hard one, but Gordon definitely bodied Fox on his left leg.
I swear I was visualizing this finish listening to the game in the car… ran in to turn on the TV and wtf?
What happened? Light the beam.
Thank you Houston!
With all the crap that officiating has brought to this team earlier in the season, it’s just getting even now at this point. But this was a really really ugly win.
The beam is lit… I seen it!
I feel dirty after that win. Anyone else?
Lebron would have never got that last call!
No because we already had to endure some BS last second losses on missed calls(@ Miami, @ GSW)
Kings certainly gonna need to be a lot better these next 3 games before the break. Good opportunity for them to get some more separation on teams below them in the West. At the very least, gotta split these back to back home games vs Dallas
Not after that blown out of bounds call. It was a weak call but Gordon did get kind of in Fox’s landing area.
Why? That was the right call. I feel disgusted about our defense but not on that call.
A finish like that for the sweep is certainly ironic after beating the Rockets by a collective 65 points the previous games.
Three key plays from my seat at Toyota Center
What. A. Win.
It’s a win on the road.. a great win or a lucky win it’s still a win…better than a moral win or a loss
