I don’t agree with TT’s point in his rant that coaches don’t inspire players. TT is “that guy” in the locker room? Mo called him the “vocal leader?” Come on. This narrative is crap. Is TT helping them win?
Kinda true. If they don’t need others to inspire them, then a vocal vet like TT should make no difference.

Considering their schedule for the next 9-10 games, the odds of a Walton firing within the next 2 weeks is very high. Finally something exciting to look forward to with this team.

No he has not. The bigger concern with this franchise though is how badly Fox has looked this year. Any hopes of them trying to build any sort of competitive team goes out the window when your max player looks like this

Agreed. A better coach would certainly be getting more out of this roster than what Walton is currently doing. This is why I couldn’t muster any excitement for this year once they announced they were keeping Walton. Just signaled to me that they were throwing away another season. Fully expect him to be fired within the next 2 weeks because wins are gonna be hard to come by with the teams they’re facing and how pathetic they look

Fox is definitely no longer one of the fastest players in the league. He’s had serious issues getting by defenders he used to blow past.

Bad, right. Used to be when the lead by the other team was 20 pts + I would just change the channel. Now with Luke on the hot seat I’m watching these games to see how bad it actually gets. This has added a new element to my Kings watching and made unwatchable games watchable.
Taking the long view, the front office has been screwing around doing nothing talking “patience” for over year. They’re going to have to actually take a swing at improving the team here pretty soon. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but Fox is piliing up meaningless stats in a blowout again. This has become a mini-trend this season.

Fox is leading the league in empty stats that have no impact on the game.
Really sucks having to come to terms with the fact that he simply does not look like that star player this franchise needed/hoped they had when they drafted him. Fox’s game regressing rather than elevating just puts this franchise in an even more dire situation than its already in. That contract only gets worse from here and now they don’t really have THAT GUY to build around. Essentially puts them back to square one where they need to hope to draft a star level talent again and then try to build off that
In this game who should he defer to on offense? Metu (4-11)? Barnes (3-9)? Buddy (0-6 at the time)? Davion (1-7 at the time)?

The Kings are bad, but I wasn’t optimistic about this game, anyway. I watched the Raptors beat the Kings at Golden 1 just before the COVID lockdown with patience, execution and smart team play on both ends on the floor. Exactly the kind of thing the Kings have serious problems with.
