She made the same point that Jones made a few minutes ago. They haven’t had many chances to practice, but reportedly had a good practice yesterday. The energy they reportedly showed in practice has not carried over into the game. She was not making an excuse.
Yeah, I initially thought she was heading that way, but she was just setting up that it was unusual for them to have a chance to practice. Too bad it didn’t translate into better effort.
And of course, they’re the only team in the league with this problem. I’ve always liked Kayte’s actual basketball takes, but she’s turned into an infinite excuse machine, and it’s a shame.
Someone joked pregame that this was the CoJo revenge game and I passive aggressively laughed. Jokes on me today as I literally did not think we could dip this low, even being a very jaded Kangz fan.
That too. But the effort has been really shaky all year. Especially on D. That is as much on the players as the coaching staff. And no leadership in the locker room.
Oh God. Kayte’s complaining about how fans “trashed” Cojo all over social media. I’ve liked a lot of her commentary in the past. But I’m done with her now. Kyle’s much more hard-hitting and honest. So your team is shit and the first thing you do is criticize the fans? Come on Kayte. Now she’s talking about a “lack of leadership” among the players and that “something has to change with that.” What about the coach you HOMER?
I submit they never stopped the tank. It was only sidetracked by teams looking past the Kings. Nobody seems to be doing anything but collecting checks and fucking around into a couple of unexpected wins.
Well, he just said he didn’t know if another coach could do better with this squad as Kayte went off the rails. He also said he “didn’t know” if Walton was a good coach or not.
For a while, I was on the fence about Kyle Draper. He brought a lot of excitement that almost put me off, but now I feel like he at least is willing to be critical of the team which I appreciate. It’s like he came from covering the celtics all the time and is figuring out this really is basketball hell and is trying to get everyone else to wake up from the stockholm syndrome
3 games back of taking the 6th pick & 3.5 games back of taking the 5th pick.
I think part of the problem is the organizational culture is soft, because it’s a one-horse town and the fans “love” them even if they lose. There’s no motivation to do better. Not for the org or the players. Even in the postgame (and I know they’re company folks), every criticism was kid-gloved and subsequently hedged.
He’s young in 80’s basketball years, but over the last two decades this has become a league of kids. He’s in his 4th season and inked a $163M contract. The age excuse has flown.
And he’s been in the NBA for 4 years. If he had been drafted this summer, or last season, I’d be more inclined to let his “youth” be an excuse. But he’s an NBA veteran.
To me, this goes back to the kid-glove approach that fans and the local media have long treated this team/players with.
Anyone else have a feeling that after the draft luck of the past few years moving up; in this purported strong 2021, the Kings will finish just in the top 5 and slide down to the 9th pick?
It just feels like, tank or no tank – the team is destined for a pick in the 8-12 range regardless of record.
The 5 and 6 gifs that showed up above were actually posted in the Recap. I even tried posting a comment as a reply to Rob’s comment there, but I have no idea where that went.
So, we have reached the darkness, where fans, media and everyone just starts cannabalizing each other because everyone is forced to admit that the Kings still suck!
Wait… so a player that was widely perceived as a solid, efficient, back-up doesn’t show much in Sacramento, but is able to start and succeed on another team?….
I think I may have heard this story before…
Only thing that comes to mind is, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Team was upset with Walton for the most bonehead move of the season and played like it!
I’m all aboard the fire Walton wagon, but blame for tonight’s lol-bacle doesn’t rest on one head only. That said, I won’t be sad if this helps guarantee a coaching change by the offseason.
Owners only listen to their wallets and their egos. Pro sport teams typically make money even when producing the worst team in their respective league. The 49ers got their silver spoon punk of an owner to back off and let experts run the team by humiliating him publicly. For those who don’t know, the fan base crowdfunded to fly a banner over the stadium calling him out repeatedly and it made national news. After that, he crawled back into his gold-covered cave and the team flourished. Vivek has seemingly hired a solid GM, time for him to finish the process, f-off, and let Monte to whatever the hell he thinks is right. A good owner does 3 things: hire experts to run the team, sign the checks, and stay out of the damn way.

OMG – that banner!
LOL- I checked in to see if Haliburton was hurt and the banner explained it all!
This is bad so far
this is actually good ð
I’m confused. Why didn’t Haliburton start? Poop Walton strikes again.
That’s puzzling because it’s a classic tank move. Luke is daring Monte to fire him.
Luke has finally accepted that the players want to tank.
What’s going on in here?
Luke’s gotta go
This is pathetic
So does Chavano Hield
Just tuned in. Haliburton benched for Harkless? Just fire him already.
That’s what he do.
Oh Doug
so annoying i had to mute
He’s said it 3x so far and the half isn’t even over yet
sounds like you’ve never been out and about. Never talked to people.
Yeah, personally I get a laugh out of it when Doug says that. Doesn’t bother me at all. 🙂
It’s a professional job.
It’s color commentating on a professional game, on a sport being watched and followed around the world. not out and about.
Why couldn’t we play this shitty all year? #cunningham
Loose can go Fox himself.
What an embarrassment
Me: Turns on the game, sees score, turns off the game
WTF!!
This Joseph would be a great backup to Fox.
If he had Buddy as his primary defender all the time, he’d be in the conversation for all star.
Can you fire a coach at halftime?
Maybe negotiate a buyout
We are the worst.
Anyway, that was an interesting 10 minutes of basketball I just watched. It’s really too bad I have to go now.
It needs repeating………Luke Walton is TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH
First thing out of Kayte’s mouth is that the Kings haven’t been able to practice.
But her actual point was that what they did in practice did not carry over into the game.
Which was what?
She made the same point that Jones made a few minutes ago. They haven’t had many chances to practice, but reportedly had a good practice yesterday. The energy they reportedly showed in practice has not carried over into the game. She was not making an excuse.
She did make a short point about their lack of ability to practice as if that was an excuse.
LOLZ
Also, after roughly 24 hours of not being able to comment on the articles….Yay, I’m back!!!
I feel like TNT should put Doug and Webber together just to find out what would happen when you combine the two worst color guys.
What a hater. DC and Webber aren’t that bad.
ð
ð
Should I watch murder shows or this? Oh, wait, they’re the same thing
Court Cam!
Damnnn gotta love that poster
CoJo with 18 points
Down by 20 and gonna loose. It’s Buddy Buckets time!
Someone joked pregame that this was the CoJo revenge game and I passive aggressively laughed. Jokes on me today as I literally did not think we could dip this low, even being a very jaded Kangz fan.
Come on Buddy. Killing us on both ends again.
Sometimes I can’t figure out which team Buddy plays for.
It changes from night to night because it’s whatever team the Kings are playing against.
Buddy’s 5/10 from the field and all but one attempt were from beyond three. 0ast, 0ft attempts, 0stl, 3to.
This has to be bad coaching, I mean our players are not that much worse than other teams players.
The Kings have a WAY BETTER roster.
Davis from 27 feet! Wtf?
So Haliburton should always have the ball when clock expiring…. got it.
We gonna win this game.
Really?
What thread am I on again?
I’ll have one of what he had.
Can’t wait to hear Walton’s postgame presser where he says “you’ve got to give the Pistons credit…”
2 m-f-ing air balls from three for Fox. Wtf?
Clueless Luke Walton has had a really good game plan in two years.
hasn’t had…too much wine.
No worries. He might have had one good game plan in two years but it’s not likely. ð
Did Fox just knee that guy in the privates?
Yes **in high pitch voice**
Did DC just say the Kings were “putting pressure” on this team?
I was really expecting a run. Detroit is that bad. But we can’t even do that.
Now we sort of do.
If Fox is your franchise player you’re stuck. We really need another star.
We need another coach. Walton has succeeded in depreciating the Kings’ assets.
That too. But the effort has been really shaky all year. Especially on D. That is as much on the players as the coaching staff. And no leadership in the locker room.
Hard to have leadership among the players when the coach is totally unqualified.
Good God Buddy that was ugly.
Which team wants it less?
CoJo, the new Kangz killer
Happy for him. He’s a good dude and was made the main scapegoat for many of the team’s issues.
Mitch is like “my thoughts?” That doobie was niiiiice.
Blah blah blah Kyle. It’s the coach!
When you get CoJo’d you just tip your cap to a great player lol, this team is such a joke.
Kayte’s loosing it. I’m no longer a fan of her.
Only three games from the fifth worst record. Fire up the tank again!
I submit they never stopped the tank. It was only sidetracked by teams looking past the Kings. Nobody seems to be doing anything but collecting checks and fucking around into a couple of unexpected wins.
One of these days, Kyle Draper is going to call out Walton for lack of leadership and I can’t wait until he does.
Well, he just said he didn’t know if another coach could do better with this squad as Kayte went off the rails. He also said he “didn’t know” if Walton was a good coach or not.
Luke Walton better take a look at those SacBee classifieds tomorrow morning with his Temple coffee.
That was rough.
I agree. Draper’s play by play isn’t great but he keeps it real in the pre and post games shows.
3 games back of taking the 6th pick & 3.5 games back of taking the 5th pick.
I think part of the problem is the organizational culture is soft, because it’s a one-horse town and the fans “love” them even if they lose. There’s no motivation to do better. LOL, Marvin for Saddiq Bey
GTFO, Vlonte
Failing to win is succeeding to lose. Phantom tank mode
Luke Walton is the coach?
For a few more hours. Check the news in the AM.
The comments disappeared faster than Fox’s leadership.
He’s young dude. He needs a better coach.
He’s young in 80’s basketball years, but over the last two decades this has become a league of kids. He’s in his 4th season and inked a $163M contract. The age excuse has flown.
Dude he’s 23!

To me, this goes back to the kid-glove approach that fans and the local media have long treated this team/players with.
Editing the above comment…..looks like the comments have returned.
So is Luke doing a postgame interview?
I assume the Luke Walton interest is not real.commented on Dave Joerger to be fired, Brandon Williams gone, Kings may be interested in Luke Walton from Sactown Royalty, Apr 11, 2019, 1:16pm EDT

Barnes comes on before Luke? Wtf?
Three games from fifth worst record. Fire up the tank again!
Its time to take Vlade’s jersey out of the rafters.
Where the F is Luke?
Hopefully he’s taking that call from U of A.
Is anyone else having trouble posting GIFs?
How in the fuuuuuuu*$ do you sit Hali for harkless, what an absolute joke
Waiting for gm and kayte to defend the stellar move
I can almost guarantee this random cartoon featured the voice talents of Fred Welker.
Why is this random? Contextual and sequenced.
Fox seems to be floating on helium of late. There’s something going on with him and I have no idea if it’s a team thing or something personal.
And might as well get an early start on the Utah post-game thread:
Is a “low” that we’ve seen so many times in the past really a “new low?” 😉
Anyone else have a feeling that after the draft luck of the past few years moving up; in this purported strong 2021, the Kings will finish just in the top 5 and slide down to the 9th pick?

Welcome to Basketball Hell.
(We’re working on it.)
“You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave…”
We had a better site two days ago!
My comment below about getting up at 4:00 AM was posted in the game recap thread.
I woke up at 4:00 AM for this game. The joke’s on me.

F Vlade and Vivek. Take Vlade’s jersey out of the rafters.
