Following yesterday’s hire of Luke Bornn as Vice President of Strategy and Analytics, the Kings will further be adding to their front office by hiring Scott Perry as an Executive Vice President per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Perry will join Kings as Executive VP and work closely w/ Vlade Divac, league sources said. Perry spent past 5 years as Magic assistant GM.

NBCSN’s James Ham has also confirmed this news.
Confirming @WojVerticalNBA tweet – Scott Perry added to the Sacramento Kings front office. Nice hire. Seasoned NBA exec.

Perry was let go by the Magic along with General Manager Rob Hennigan after the season concluded. Perry had been with the Magic for five seasons but his experience in NBA front offices goes far beyond that. After a short head coaching career at Eastern Kentucky, he was hired to the Pistons front office in 2000 and was with the Pistons for the duration of their run atop the Eastern Conference. He joined the Seattle Supersonics in 2007 as Assistant GM but did not go with the team to Oklahoma City. Instead he went back to Detroit where he served as Vice President of Basketball Operations for 4 years before joining the Magic in 2012.
According to Wojnarowski, Perry will have a big role in Sacramento’s front office, with Vlade Divac being the only person above him.
Sources: Perry will largely execute the duties of a GM w/ Kings, but Divac will keep final say. Perry has strong relationships thru NBA.

USA Today’s Sam Amick added this:
Kings' chain-of-command, I'm told, now 1) Vlade, 2) Perry, 3) Asst. GM Ken Catanella. Scott's a really good pickup. Strong NBA relationships

Fans have been clamoring for the Kings to add some experienced front office support for Vlade Divac for a while now, and Perry seems to fit the bill. With the Perry and Bornn hires, as well as the news that Bornn will be adding more guys to his analytics department in the coming weeks, the Kings seem to be making good strides towards adding some stability and depth to their basketball operations team.
The Kings have yet to make Perry’s hire official, but we will keep you up to date with any news.
UPDATE 12:45 P.M.:
